A Day in the Park [Closed] (Dated)
Oct 21, Year 4
It was a peaceful day in the park. Zweihander laid in his favored spot, bereft of his usual mercenary's attire. Even his namesake, his claw-and-a-half sword, was nowhere to be found. The reason for this lax behavior was evident enough to him; it was payday. Eating some beef he had stowed away, he closed his eyes, and relaxed. Letting out a rattling breath, he was hoping that it would be a quiet day. For once.

He moved slowly, but not because he was wanting to pounce the one in the grass, but because he had to. SangWing was probably in one of the worst states in his fighting career, minus the time when both of his wings were broken in front of him. He was limping across the park, his eyes focused on the direction to the griffin medical hut so that he could go and get patched up. He passed Zweihander as he walked, and after a few more steps, he sunk to his fours, the pain becoming unbearable. His right wing had a one inch hole in it, and had a dry trail of blood leaking down his wing, and stopping at the end of his feathers. His right hind leg also had a hole around the knee, one inch in circumference. His chest looked battered, and there were more internal injuries from repeated blunt strikes to his chest and face. He looked down and placed his head on the grass, looking back at the other griffin before looking forward. He completely forgot who this griffin was, and what they shared.

Having a bit of heightened hearing helps when one may be stalking you, or attempting to hide. As Zweihander rested in the grass, these predators senses told him that:
-A griffon was nearby
-said griffon was injured
Snapping his eyes open, he gave a discreet look around. Making himself appear to still be taking a nap, and half closing his eyes, he made an assessment.
The Griffon was known to him. It was SangWing. Appearing out of the brush, SangWing limped through the park, towards the nearby Griffon medical tent. Appearance wise, SangWing looked like he had just exited a sparring match with Slash, the Stormtroopers resident claw-boxer. SangWing was their field agent, the one who got things done quickly and efficiently. Except for coming back for lost comrades. Zweihander ground his beak. As he was starting to get angry, he realized something; he did not have his sword. Physically feeling his pupils dilate, he decided discretion was the better part of valor, and kept still. He had not had an incident in 2 years, he was not going to break that streak.
Slowly moving to his nearby cache once SangWing moved past, he desperately scrabbled for the familiar metal of his sword. As soon as his claw contacted his sword, he felt the red mist that had clouded his eyes vanish. Gearing up on his trademark harness, and attaching his sword, he returned to where he saw SangWing. Seeing a trail, he decided to follow. Whatever had beaten SangWing to an inch of his life, Zweihander wished to find out how.

SangWing growled at the memories that flew past his head. That damn mare, tricking him and jumping off of a building, distracting him when he tried to kill that zebra. He remembered the final colors that moved through his vision until he was knocked out cold. He heard the small steps of Zweihander as the griffin walked up behind him, and SangWing quickly turned around so that his red eyes could stare into the other griffin's hues. "What is it you want?" He asked, as he glared at the other soldier. Their team, what they did together, all was lost on him. "Are you looking for a..." He paused as he felt his right hind leg spasm on him, and he moved back to his fours. "Fight?"

String trots through the park, his acoustic guitar by his side, he notices the two griffons, being insane, he continues through the park, looking around, his cloak and hood covering his head and body.

Remembering is hard. Remembering that SangWing left Zweihander for dead, and doesn't remember him in the slightest, is harder. For Zweihander, his duty, his life before that day, was a moment of clarity that he did not allow himself the luxury of forgetting. But, this Griffon forgot his duty, and left Zweihander to die, and left him to be tortured by those unicorns. That made him angry.
Shaking his head, Zweihander turned away from the wounded Griffon, and began to walk back the way he came.

Something in the back of his mind told SangWing that he should be following this griffin. Despite how much pain he would be in if he didn't go to the hospital right away, he decided to take a few steps forward. "What is your deal?" He asked, as he managed to place one of his claws onto the griffin's thigh to try and stop him. "You don't just stare at SangWing and expect to walk away. What do you want?" He asked again, before he limped to the front of the other griffin.

'That fool Is deciding to confront me!' Zweihander thought to himself. 'If he truly wants a confrontation, I'll give it to him.'
Cracking his neck audibly, Zweihander prepared for a fight. Deciding that SangWing needed to back off, he fixed the Griffon with a hard stare. Lifting one of his arms, he stuck his thumb behind him in the general direction of the medical tent. There was no point in teaching a wounded animal a lesson. It wouldn't stick.

SangWing's right eye twitched a few times as he realized the implications behind the griffin's gesture. The griffin was telling him that he should move and get healed. While that was probably a good idea, it did not get past SangWing's thick head. He instead moved closer, closing the distance between the two of them. Their beaks were touching, and Zweihander was able to smell SangWing's breath, as he came out of his nose. "Are you telling me what to do?" He simply asked, before he turned to the one with a guitar. "Shut that thing up before I break it! Fucking pony scum!"

It was a pretty nice day to stretch ones wings so Falon decided to leave his camp in the forest to fly one or two rounds over the leftovers of what was once Manehattan. Since he had always loved the nature he headed for the park area. On approach his eagleeyes detected two griphons, who where apperently about to fight, even though one seemd hurt badly and a cloaked person holding a guitar. Finding that constelation quite interesting he took a seat on a passing cloud and waited for what might happen next.

Zweihander could smell the ponyflesh on SangWings breath, and it was disgusting. Barely holding his stomach down, he maintained his glare. After SangWing was done yelling at the poor musician (And Zweihander thought the tune was catchy) he restarted eye contact. Purposefully nodding slow, Zweihander raised his arm again, and stuck his thumb at the medical tent. As he did so, out of the corner of his right eye another griffon could be seen, laying on a cloud. It appeared they had spectators. Good. Having a bit of Public Relations always helps a mercenary.

SangWing noticed the other griffin's gaze turning to something else behind him, and he quickly took a step back so that he could see the new spectator. Interesting, that meant more people to watch when SangWing finally decided to stop being merciful. He looked to Zweihander once more, and then raised one of his eagle claws. He gave Zwei a large push before smirking and flexing his unhurt wing. "You expect me to listen to you?" He asked, as his red eyes maintained the glare. "You better turn around, and walk back to your spot on the grass. Five seconds. Four... Three... Two... One..."

Zweihander staggered back. It did seem that SangWing had not lost his arrogance, deciding to land the first blow. Regaining his footing, Zweilander pressed the button that attached the sword to his harness. This fight would not become lethal, but it was sure going to hurt. Getting into his favored fighting stance, Zweilander launched himself into SangWing. While doing so, he extended his wings, giving a little bit of extra power to his tackle, and widening his area of attack. If this hit connected, SangWing would be in a very dangerous situation. The only way to dodge the attack effectively would be to launch himself in tha air, and Zweilander did not think SangWing was that foolish. Once he reached half the distance to his target, he began to hear a familiar Stalliongrad tune.

As he mentioned that he has been spotted he uses his wings to make the cloud float directly above the hot headed griphons.
That beeing done he carefully pulls his blowpipe and a dart with sleeping poison out, with hopefully nobody noticing, to prevent the worst if it comes to a fight.
"Griphons shouldn't fight each other in times like this" he thought to himself.

A devious smirk moved across the face of the griffin as his opponent decided to be the first one to attack. He completely ignored the pain moving through his body as the few steps used to close the distance were made. SangWing let out a screech of battle as he took a few steps towards the tackle, and collided with the griffin. It would be easy to tell who was going to win this tackle, since Zwei was completely healed, while SangWing was barely able to open his unhurt wing. Combined with the tackle was an attempt for SangWing to bite at Zwei's throat, but he could only attempt one bite before the force of the combined tackle sent the injured griffin flying a few feet. He landed on his back, and staggered back to his feet, pain from his solar plexus injury flooding to him. "Fucking weak." He barely managed to spit out. "You are useless without your sword!"

String smirks, now that the pace is good he started strumming his guitar wildly.
"And so the battle started,
Between these two young men,
They both have the glory,
Both to waste and defend.
But one's honor will be more,
When the sound of battle's gone,
The other threw the first attack,
At the wounded peacock."
He laughs slightly, waiting for the next move.

A wide grin splits Falons face as he sees the griphons fighting with a background song, played by the other equine spectator. "What would i give for a nice snack right now" he thinks as he takes a look at the bard who seems to enjoy the show aswell. "This injuried griphon must have a lot of guts to fight in such a condition" he mumbels. It didn't seem to be a serious fight because noone drew their weapons so he took a more comftable position and continued to watch the battle.

Damn! That clever fool sttod his ground! Zweihander thought to himself.[i/] During the tackle he had been bitten by SangWing. Just stray of his jugular, he seemed to have bitten right on his old scar. Not hard enough to reopen the old wound, but hard enough to make a brand new cut. Cleverly, SangWing had stood his ground, taking the full force of the tackle, counter-attacking. Getting into a ready stance, Zweihander viewed his enemy.
SangWing appeared to be hurt a bit more, but he had gotten first blood instead. As SangWing stood up, Zweihander notices the musician was now singing, as well as playing. Shaking his head to get distracting thoughts out of his head, he silently observed his foe. When SangWing stood up, he cursed at Zweihander.
"Fucking weak! You're useless without your sword!" Noting that he barely managed to say those words, Zweihander judged his attack winded the cocksure Griffon. Shaking his head, Zweihander offered the Griffon his final chance at an exit without more conflict. He had done what he had set out to do, humiliate him publicly. Hopefully the griffon understood that discretion, is sometimes the better part of valor. As both griffons faced eachother, Zweihander, never breaking eye contact, pointed at the medical tent. This was SangWing's final chance at no conflict.
Zweihander doubted that he would take it.

String watches amazed at Zwei, noticing that he still stands by his decision, and that is to help the wounded griffon.
"One's noble deeds,
The other's provokations,
A great mischief,
Bringing mess to griffon lines,
Honor once again,
Outdid it's needs.
For once more,
The noble one tries peace,
Knowing better for the both of them,
The path to stopping,
Shorter than the path to healing,
Seems like the minstrels will have a job tonight."

Re: A Day in the Park [Closed] (Dated)
The tugging sensation at his right hind leg caused a wince to move across the griffin's features. He was in excruciating pain, and endurance could only handle so much. Both Atriark and the stealthy mare had injured SangWing more than he was willing to admit. It wasn't until the full on tackle that SangWing realized the extent of his injuries. His chest felt like it was being caved in, and he was losing breath quicker than usual. His right wing was in too much pain to move, as shown by his hesitation to flex it.
SangWing's right hind leg was also in pain from the wound made by Iris, and due to the ground scratching it up, he was now bleeding out of it. He was still in the right mind though, if he could just endure and end this fight quickly, he could leave with his dignity. Why he needed to fight this griffin, was a question that could only be answered by him. He wasn't going to turn around and walk away after he was outdone. That was how his wings were previously broken.
SangWing took a few steps towards the griffin and then smirked as the thumb was extended towards the medical hut again. He took another step, then another, before he attempted a full on tackle towards the griffin. He was ready for any counterattack, but with so many injuries, the fight was already decided.

Seeing how the badly injuried griphon was still trying to fight he put his blowpipe to his beak. This was about to end in one or another way and he wouldn't let it come to a lethal finish. Taking a deap breath he shot his dart, aiming for the injuried griphons neck. He didn't know about the griphon but he assumed he wouldn't kill someone in such a shape, even though he seemed to be weird due to the fact that he didn't talk yet.

As SangWing barreled towards Zweilander, time seemed to slow. As the wounded griffon charged, Zweilander pulled off a well practiced maneuver. In one fluid motion, he deactivated the safety, unsheathed the sword, and prepared to slap him with the flat of the blade...
But he was already asleep. Snapping his beak in irritation, Zweihander looked around. Someone had interfered. Gazing at the musician, then the griffon above, he came to a conclusion. It was the griffon. Gesturing for the spectator to get off of his cloud, he awaited the grey griffons explanation. Heh. Funny, it seemed a lot of grey beings were popping up this week.

SangWing was feet away from the griffin, he was going to strike, going to finish this fight. However, right when he was going to attack, darkness obscured his vision, and he fell in front of Zweihander, his beak touching the other griffin's toes. He was out cold from the dart, as it lodged in his neck. The poison was completely emptied into him, and due to the extent of his injuries, he was going to be out for a while.

Noticing the gesturing of the seemingly scilence loving griphon, Falon puts his blowpipe away and hops down from the cloud spreading his wings for a soft landing. Facing the brown griphon he says "Sorry to interupt your game, but i didn't want this to get out of claw. I assume you don't plan to cause any more harm to your own kind today?". That beeing sayed he trotts over to the sleeping one to get his dart back and waits for an answer.

Realizing this griffon was expecting him to answer, Zwei pointed at the massive scar on his throat. He then mimed talking, and shook his head. He was attempting to tell the Griffon that he was mute.

Seeing the griphons moves Falon deducted that he was muted by some cut in the throat. "He must be quite strong if he survived a cut like that" he thought to himself. "Okay then. If you would wanted to kill that guy over here you would have killed him. So why don't you put your sword down and we discuss what to do with him." He sayed with a short gaze at that far-to-long-to-be-comftable-around-it sword he was still holding.

Noticing that the griffon glanced at his sword, he realized that having a sword almost as long as you are tends to make beings uncomfortable. Sheathing the sword, Zweihander gestures at the unconscious griffon.

Sighing, Zweihander picked up the unconscious Griffon, pointing to the nearby medical tent. After he finished gesturing, Zweihander proceeds down the path, to drop off SangWing.
It was more than the base cur deserved.
Looking rather sour at the turn of events, Zweihander wondered where the musician had gone. Shrugging, he continued on his way.

"Oh okay i guess you can handle him." Falon said trotting next to the brown gryphon who didn't seem to like helping his former enemy. "I'll leave you then, but before that can you tell me your name? You always meet twice in life they say. Mine's Falon.". "I hope he doesn't kill him when i'm gone" Falon thinks, getting ready to launch of when he got his answer.

Zweihander sighed again. After pointing to his throat, he pointed back at the large sword attached to his back. It was a traditional Griffon Zweihander, but was richly ornamented, with a diamond stud in the hilt. After pointing to himself, then the sword, several times, he hoped that Falon understood that his name was his sword.

Noticing the griphons moves he could tell that he shared his name with his sword, wich seemd to be a zweihander. Falon had seen them in a few battles before so he knew that it was not an uncommon weapon for griphons to use. "Okay Zweihander. I'll be gone then." Falon said, gaining some speed and launching off to continue his patrol over the city.

After discovering his name, Falon flew off into the sky, no doubt to fly a patrol. Giving a sigh, Zweihander readjusted his grip on the unconscious SangWing. After a couple minutes of silence, he arrives at the medical tent he had told SangWing to go to all along. Chuckling at that, he presented SangWing to the doctors there. They attempted to ask him questions, but he did not respond. Heading home, he collected what remained of his cash, and went to the nearest bar.
