Leave the Drunk Alone

[Manehatten Guard]

Nov. 15 - Early morning: 1 AM

A lone griffon follows a beaten trail in the grass of the park, movements wobbly and slightly off balance as a slightly rosy hue covers his features. He brings a bottle up to his beak, only to pause as no more of the precious liquid comes out to greet him. "Stupid thing..." The large brown griffon growled to himself as he angrily tossed the empty piece of glass over his shoulder to have someone else pick up for him.

With a mildly annoyed grunt, he continues on through his usual patrol, making sure no ponies were out before the right time came by. He was lucky to have gotten the park. No one ever comes here to check on me. He thought to himself with another chuckle. Who cares about a little boredom when you get to do what you want?

[Aqua Blade]

A royal blue Pegasus pony trotted towards the park. His black bandana fluttered in the early morning breeze, sending a chill down his spine. Aqua Blade had started what he set out to do since he got word of its existence; last night, he signed up for the rebellion. However, he still didn't have anything assigned to him. He wasn't very tried, so he left the Undermarket to take a look around the city.

He eventually reached the central park. It was quite peaceful despite the terrible conditions of the city. He enjoyed the softness of the grass on his hooves after having walked on nothing but concrete for a long while. He reached a small pond and sat down,enjoying the serenity of this moment. It's so peaceful here; it almost seems like the war was nothing but a bad dream, Aqua thought to himself, basking in the moonlight.

The griffon eventually found his way to the pond that signaled the halfway mark of his patrol; he was almost able to get back to his bed and sleep. Just as long as nothing stupid happens. The very moment the thought crossed his mind, something caught his eye: a royal blue pegasus.

His eyes narrowed as he put his full attention onto the equine. With a slightly bumbling talon, he checked his belt to make sure his sword was still in its rightful place on his side. Once everything was confirmed to be in order, he stepped toward the pegasus.

"It's a little late to be...out and about don't ya think?"

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua's thoughts were interrupted by someone's voice. And the voice sounded rather...off, like they were thinking too hard about what to say. He turned to the source of the sound and held a very nasty glare at the creature. A griffon was approaching him and he was not pleased. He had developed a rather bitter hatred for the griffon race after what one did to his poor little brother. He wanted to strike this vile creature down right where he...wobbled. Wait, wobbled? He noticed, aside from his speech, that he was bumbling around a bit. He's drunk? Great, that makes this even better! He thought sarcastically. But, it also might work to his advantage. If this griffon was drunk, he'd have a harder time fighting should they come to blows, but he'd see if he could get out of this without bloodshed.

That didn't quell his hatred though, as he held his angry gaze and spoke with a tongue of venom at the griffon. "Is there a problem with me sitting by a pond?" he asked him, not hiding his hatred in the slightest.

"According to the curfew laws, you are not allowed to be out until the shun comes up again." The griffon barked as he approached ever closer to the pegasus. Stopping within talon's grasp of the equine, he placed said talon onto his sword's grip. "And as the law states, you need to head into a home and stay there. Or else I get to have a little fillet of pony for dinner. And your just sitting there is the only reason I am unable to just skewer you."

Keeping the most stern face he could in his current less than lucid state, he waited for the pony's response.

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua literally breathed out steam from his muzzle. This is why he hated griffons; they were always so arrogant. He wasn't going to follow the commands given to him, but he decided to have a little fun with him.

Aqua raised a brow at the griffon, smirking. "You can barely see five feet in front of you. What makes you think you'll even be able to catch me?" he asked, trying to hold back a laugh.

[Manehatten Guard]

"You're just askin' for a beating, aren't you pony?" The griffon asked with a notably more annoyed tone than before. Keeping his icy glare trained on the pony in front of him, he clenched the grip of his sword tighter.

"I'll give you one last warning, punk. Go back inside, or taste my weapon." She warned, hardly blinking.

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua chuckled, getting up to his hooves. "Alright, big guy, didn't mean to get your feathers all out of place!" Starts to walk away, before adding. "Or maybe I did. Try to wrap your mind around that one; sure it'll be difficult for you."

The griffon paused for a moment, the sound of his sword's metal scraping on its sheath filling the night sky as he readied his weapon. "Would you care to repeat that, punk?" He asked, taking a step forward. "Well then... How about you show me why I shouldn't just run this blade into your belly? No one would miss you."

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua stopped. He turned his gaze back to the griffon, matching the griffon's angry glare with one of his own. Aqua grabs the hilt of his katana in his teeth and unsheaths it, the black and sea green blade appearing before them. "This is why you won't strike me; you won't be able to even touch me. Take your drunken ass elsewhere, cause it's not wanted here."

The griffon laughed slightly at the show of courage by the pony, keeping his own sword at the ready. "You're a very foolish one, aint ya pony?" He said with another hearty laugh, taking another step closer. "Now put that toy away before you hurt yourself. I'll make it quick since ya just gave me a reason to strike you down."

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua kept his sword firmly clenched in his teeth, not budging an inch. He was getting more focused as his enemy drew near; he would wait for the time to strike.

The griffon smirked as he prepared himself for a moment, focusing his slightly blurry vision on the dark blue pegasus. Without warning, he lunged towards his target, clumsily swinging his sword to the side while slightly below his normal skill level due to his current state of mind.

[Aqua Blade]

His focus at a perfect high, Aqua would block the swipe with a perfect parry. He held his sword in place, not budging in the slightest. "Hmm, I thought a Griffon like you could overpower a pony like me; seems like I was wrong."

[Manehatten Guard]

The griffon's sword ricocheted off of the katana, forcing him to take a step back. "Quiet you hay eater!" He growled, trying to stab at the pony this time while taking a step forward again, strike slightly off balance once again.

[ShadowWalker]

ShadowWalker clung to the shadows of the park as to not draw attention to herself considering she was carrying a case of morphine with her back to the makeshift hospital. As she passed the pond, her ear picked up a confrontation between a griffon and a pegasus of royal blue hue. Her senses told her to avoid getting into somepony else's affairs but her heart pulled her towards them.
"Hey, let that pegasus alone!!" she called and took a defiant step towards the winged lion.

[Aqua Blade]

This time, Aqua uses his supreme speed and jumps into the air, his wings unfurling and taking flight. He floated above the Griffon, smirking triumphantly.

He then heard a voice call out and he turned to the source. He was surprised to see a Zebra standing there, challenging the Griffon he was fighting. He gave her a look that said 'What are you doing?' but didn't say anything less the Griffon take even more notice. She did up and challenge him, so there wouldn't be much difference if he said anything, but he still decided to remain silent.

The griffon growled as the new voice filled his ears. Getting, distracted from his current target due to his lack of a level head. "You stay outta this!" He nearly roared in anger while taking a step away from both of the equines.

"Actually...I could use a larger dinner tonight!" He grinned, holding his sword at the ready. "Need something to soak up this stuff so I don't get in trouble with the boss."

[ShadowWalker]

Gently lowering the case of medicine to the ground, ShadowWalker stood in a battle-ready position for the griffon's attack.

"Make my night, griffon scum!!"

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua's eyes went wide. "What are you doing!?" he shouted at her, his voice a bit muffled due to the katana in his teeth.

[Manehatten Guard]

The griffon smirked at the challenge, swinging his sword once to threaten the zebra before having to steady himself after a slight wobble. "Oh I will. And you'll make my meal!" He laughed, charging forward without a moment's thought.

He stumbled slightly in said charge, but didn't seem to mind too much as he swung his weapon toward his new target.

[ShadowWalker]

Waiting until the last possible second, ShadowWalker sidestepped the charging griffon and tripped one of his clawed feet.

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua flew towards the ground, but not yet landing, seeing what would happen between the two before he jumped in. That Zebra's got guts Aqua thought to himself.

[Manehatten Guard]

The griffon stumbled slightly as his strike missed, able to avoid the trip attempt that came at him from the zebra despite his current state. "Sit still, you stupid hay muncher!" He said angrily, forced to take a moment to steady himself.

[ShadowWalker]

Shadow simply turned her head and side stepped the griffon once more only this time picking up her case and continuing on her since deciding this was not worth her time.

[Aqua Blade]

To say Aqua was baffled at the scene taking place before him would be a huge understatement. He had no idea what this Zebra was thinking. She challenged this drunk Griffon that was attacking him, sidestepped him twice, and just walked away. He was horribly confused by this turn of events, but he had to finish this fight first.

Aqua took off, using his incredible speed to fly straight at the Griffon, attempting a powerful slice at the Griffon's side.

The griffon was about to angrily yell at the leaving zebra, stopping once he caught movement in the corner of his eye. Unable to react to the attack in time in his state, he let a loud yell of pain loose as the blade carved deeply into his side.

The wound forced him down to the ground as blood quickly seeped out of his body. "Y...ya dirty punk..."

[Aqua Blade]

Aqua halted to a stop, turning around to glare at the griffon. He slowly approached him, his anger seeming to grow as he drew his blade out once more. Without saying a word, Aqua went over and sliced a considerable sized gash into the griffon's neck.

[Manehatten Guard]

The griffon glared at the pegasus with a look of pure hatred as he approached him. Unable to reply before the blade could make contact once more, quiet coughing and gurgling sounds slowly rose up from the griffon as blood slowly filled his airway.

After a few moments, the griffon slowly fell limply onto the grass, not moving an inch as the life drained away from him.

Aqua simply glared at the lifeless Griffon in front of him for a little while. He knew what he had done would send the city up in a riot, so he had to make haste and leave now. He quickly ran back over to the pond, cleaned off his blade, sheathed it, and took off, heading back for the undermarket.
