- Scanion follows the military rank chain very strictly; anything above his rank won’t have a problem with him. Anything below his rank are expected to follow orders without question, and are also expected not to argue back.
Scanion is very patient. It comes from him knowing that it will take more time for others to break compared to others during torture. In his eyes, the longer he has to wait, the more fun he will have.
He is somewhat protective of Void, his favourite pet. Although he will say things that may hint at disliking Void, he has no intention of having her be killed or taken.
- Background:
- Scanion is in charge of a brainwashing project that was started in the first attack on Canterlot. Through torture Scanion made sure that the captured ponies had not a bit of free will left and did everything they were told. Along the way, many of the subjects died for various reasons until only Void was left, the perfect result and his favourite pet. No new subjects have been caught for a relatively long time now; Void is everything that's left of the original project. Recently, they have been ordered to Manehatten in search of the last - and supposedly most dangerous - member of a group of criminals.
Scanion’s natural talent for torture came from a former-General, who had a high tendency to kill captured enemies instead of getting any information out of them. His General’s failure to show the benefits of torture awakened Scanion’s sadistic side. He proceeded to follow up on various torture methods, and succeeded where other’s had failed, becoming a true Master of Pain. Void was the perfect result of these methods, others weren’t so successful.
During the duration of his project, which was based on a small fortress on top of a cliff, only one subject managed to escape with his life using the camps sewer system. The files of the subject held the title, “S. T. Ferrous”. After that one escape, the fortresses security was heightened and no further escapes were successful. Scanion hasn’t forgotten the one that got away, and if he ever got the chance, he’d finish the job he started on him.
