Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
Prism was the first to walk up to the hole. The smell hit him before he was even close but this didn't affect him he had been around this sort of smell before a number of times.
He looked down the hole, with the light coming through he could see the bottom it was not that far and could just climb down or even jump but mostly would get move coved then he would liked to.
With a quick glow of his horn then a *POP* he was gone the city level and was now standing in the lovely smelling sewer. Using his horn once more he light up the tunnel.

Zero craned his head over the hole, shriveling his nose at the stench. He looked back at Maya, and sarcastically asked. "Ladies first?" He knew she didn't like the sewers, considering her reaction when he told her he had slept in them before. Turning back to the hole with a chuckle, he made a small hop and disappeared down into the sewers, looking up at the light from the surface while he waited for the rest of the team.

Maya looked down to the other two ponies. "eww, this smells disgusting, i hope the rest of your hideout does not smell like this." She tried not to breath through her nose, as she slowly climbed down. She hoped this smell will not be this strong all the way to the hideout.

As everypony climbed down the ladder Jack looks around once more, checking, if they're really unseen. Then he also climbs down the manhole and pulls the cover over it. Jack slides down the ladder and with a *thumb* he lands next to the group. "Welcome to the lovely sewer. Home of the rebellion and various diseases." he chuckles.
"If that's north." he mumbles and looks into one direction of the tunnel. "Then the rebellion should be that way." he says in a louder voice now and points in the other direction. As Jack trots along the tunnel he just hopes that he's right. He wasn't in the sewers very often yet and he entered it the first time trhough this entrance.

Steel looked through the various reports from the rebels. There was good news, bad news, irrelevant news and it all had to be sorted. It wasn't fun leaving Megs alone most of the time, but he was a leader of the rebellion and he had more responsibilities now. He planned on moving semi permanently to the undermarket, just to keep her safe and sound. And keep himself safe and sound. A lot of beings would probably want his hide soon, some probably not even griffons. So he had to be vigilant for his and Doubles safety.

"Yes the water is lovely" He said with a half smile wish there was a way he could use his magic to teleport the smell away.
As they start to walk off where Jack pointed Prism asked "Does your market area smell as lovely as the tunnels do?"

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
An overly excited Pike Vanguard tromped down the sewer halls. He had gotten used to the smells of the sewer well into his conversation with SticksNStones but he had forgotten his way out. For the first time in a while he didn't worry, he would spend the night here if he had to. The earthpony had at least some idea of how to get back to the Undermarket.
In the meantime, Pike was enjoying his sense of accomplishment. Although, it obviously had an effect on where he was literally heading, but again, he didn't seem to mind. His ears perked up at the sound of a few voices down the tunnel, but he couldn't make out any figures in the darkness. He began to whistle a tune in an absurd, nonchalant manner. 'A large group headed to the Undermarket this late?' he thought to himself. 'There must be a reason.'

"Oh c'mon guys..." Zero jokingly said. "It's not that ba-"
He heard some whistling down the sewers, putting him in an instant high-alert.
"What was that...?"
The pegasus froze for a moment in the filthy water, before continuing on, his steps much lighter.

Maya looked along the tunnels, i was like a labyrinth down here. "So do you guys have a map of these sewers or something? Because when i would walk alone here, i guess i would get lost..." She side while walking next to Zero. The smell was disgusting but she had no other choice, so she just accepted it. When she heard the whistling from one of the tunnesl she just thought its someone else of the rebels who maybe patrolled here. "i guess its just a rebel patrol." She said to zero

"Well, it doesn't smell that bad in the area where most of the ponies live, but it still has a decent smell. You'll probably get used to it after several visits down here." Jack says to Prism and turns his head to Blackwing. "Sorry, but there aren't any maps for the undermarket. At least none showing where shops are or something like that. It would be to risky, if the griffons would get them, but I suppose there are some maps of the sewer system made by the government a long time ago."
Jack ears perk up as he hears the whisteling, but keeps calm. Even if there are many crazy ponies down here most of them are friendly. So Jack keeps walking and peek around the corner of a crossing and looks into the direction of the whisteling.

"He right there was maps, but last time I saw one was ten years ago" He said watching the tunnel ahead of him. Then he heard whistling Prism froze taking a defence stance, but spotted that Jake was still moving he guessed other down here was normal.
Getting back to Jacks side he still wanted to make sure they had a plan place. He talked quietly to Jack so that whoever this other group was wouldn't hear "If they are other pony's I will you lead, but if they're Griffon's you take Zero and..." In that moment he realized he didn't know the Mare's name "Zero's mare-friend out of here and I will make sure you get away" he said as he lowered how bright the light was from his horn.

Pike could hear whispers among the group and could see four figures in the dim light, a mare and three stallions. He held a steady pace toward the group and continued to whistle. After a few moments, he called out in a bright but low tenor. "Good evening, everypony. I have seem to lost my way to..." He hesitated, "To the Undermarket and was hoping somepony could help me."
He stopped in his tracks after announcing this, unsure of the group's intentions.

Zero's ear perked up in Prisms direction upon hearing how he referred to Maya.
"Hey, hey... Her name's Maya."
"...Undermarket?" He thought to himself, if this was a hostile than he wasn't doing a very good job of concealing himself, with the constant whistling and all.
The pegasus turned to Gray.
"...think he can go with us? I'm not sure if we can trust him just yet..."

Maya looked over to Zero as he nearly yelled at Prism. "No worry about things like that, he´s old, maybe his memory isn´t that good." she said with a small giggling. As she saw the Pony who walked down here she inspected him. He looked like a total normal pony, no spy or something, but maybe they shouldn´t trust him. Maya walked up to gray and whispered in his ear "Maybe he´s a spy of those filthy griffons, we shouldn´t trust him." She don´t wanted to be responsible for a raid at the rebellion HQ right at her first day. Slowly she walked back next to Zero.

Jack scratches his chin as he thinks. "Well, he's already down here and can easily follow us to the undermarket. So, I guess he can join our little group anyway." he says. If the new pony will be in their group Jack can have his eyes on him and the only way to make him stop following them Jack can think of right now would include things he doesn't want to do to a maybe innocent pony. Jack reaches out a hoof with a smile. "You can call me Jack. What's your name?"

Prism shot Zero a look after his little out burst, so much for staying quite at lest it was just a pony. If it was Griffon's they could have at lest one pony's name and that wouldn't be good. He let out a sigh of relief.
Prism stood next to Jack ignoring what Maya had said as there was no point in saying anything. He stood there watching the new comer moving the light in his horn so they could get a better look at him and eyed him up and down.

Pike's eyes were immediately drawn to the stallion holding a hoof out. He smiled and approached the pony to accept the formality with his own held out hoof. "Very wonderful to meet you, Jack. Pike Vanguard is my name," said Pike, who ignored the colt and mare couple. He noticed a tough-looking unicorn staring intently at him. Pike smiled nervously at the unicorn and turned back to Jack. "Can I assume that you four are headed to the Undermarket as well?" he asked, rhetorically. He just began to notice the tension in the air among the other three ponies.

(I didn't yell at him.... It was more of a jokingly presented correction...)
"...what...? I was joking...."
Zero stepped forward, tipping his cap to the pony who made himself known as 'Pike' after looking back at Prism. He appeared to have taken that quite seriously... he meant no disrespect, of course. It seemed as if he didn't realize how loud he had gotten...
"Name's Zero.... You said Pike, right? S'pleasure..."

Maya didn´t said anything, she didn´t trusted the new pony. She just silently walked besides Zero, hoping pike wasn´t any spy or assassin from the griffons. She just hoped they will arrive soon. She looked to Zero and whispered to him "I don´t trust this colt... we should try to be not too near at him."

Jack shakes Pike's hoof with a nod. "Yes, we're going to the Undermarket. I think, if you want you can join our little group and follow us." Jack says and begins to walk along the tunnel again. "What do you do down here anyway? I doubt that you live here, because then you would know the way."
Even if Jack has great sense of direction, it was hard for him to remember the way to the rebel HQ and the destroyed tunnels don't make it easier for him. With every destroyed tunnel on their way they have to take another detour, making thei trip last longer. Jack just hopes his group has some patience and are no hotheads.

Prism eyed up Pike, not waiting to give a name so freely as Jack and Zero had done they were too trusting and that is something that could cost lives.
One thing Prism did spot was Pike had some very full bags and what was in them could answer what he was doing down here and possible if he could be trusted or needed to be killed.
"What's in your bags they look very full," He said getting close a seeing if he could see anything has they made there way through the tunnels.

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
Joker shifted under his rags. He had come down into these disgusting sewers a few days ago, fixing some pipes for a hotheaded pony in an apartment above. He had quickly become hopelessly lost in the labyrinthine maze of tunnels and dead ends. He wandered for a while, desperate to get to the surface cause he needed to get paid, but to no avail.
He gritted his sharp canine teeth in rage. If he could just get out of here, he would be able to save her. But then again, up there he would be just as lost as down here. He needed help, much as he disliked admitting it. Maybe these ponies in the act of resistance could be of some use to him. Now, if he could just find them...
He stiffened under his coverings. He had gathered together every rag and blanket he could in preparation for this job, to protect his especially keen senses of smell and taste. Laying against the wall as he was now, he looked like a heap of dirty rags, and it came to no surprise to him that he was passed by the small group of equines.
He examined them suspiciously. A red unicorn, a tan earth pony, and three pegasi, one a mare. As soon as they moved out of sight he rose to his paws, sneaking after them carefully.

Pike focused on Jack who seemed to be the most receptive to him. He gently let go of Jack's hoof and smiled to the entire group, mentally charging himself before introducing his profession. "You're right, Jack. I do not live here, neither do I work here." Pike turned to the unicorn, giving him a disapproving look. "I am an accountant and I had heard there were businesses down here in the Undermarket that could use my services." He shifted his body back and forth to pleat out the bulges in his saddlebags. "As for these, I need them to carry documents, it's very important for my work I hope you understand."
The tan pony shifted back to face Jack. "I've only been down here once before to do some business and I guess I lost my way this time, so I would appreciate the company." He noticed the mare whispering to Zero and Pike gave a little wave of his hoof to acknowledge their presence.

"...just stay alert..." he whispered back, ensuring he wouldn't be heard. He rose his voice, directed at Pike. "Yeah... We'll get you there." he said, returning the gesture.
He felt strange at that moment, as if two eyes were boring into the back of his head. The pegasus looked all around, behind his shoulder, and found nothing of interest. Regardless, it only put him on a greater edge...
"...does anypony else feel like they're being... watched?"

Prism listen to what Pike had said and his wording just didn't seem to add up at all, the way he talked it was like he hadn't worked down here and he even said he didn't work here and then he goes to say he's works down here before and just lost his way. This was rubbing Prism in all the wrong ways and he didn't make it this far just trusting a friendly smile.
It was time to be blunt and to the point with this pony "You need to learn to keep your story straight. You say you don't work down here and you come looking for it then you tell us you have done businesses down here your story don't added up" He looked back to his bag "Maybe you should show us your 'documents' because I am sure you don't need that much paper." He kept his voice calm but in a commanding tone.
He was too busy keeping his attention on Pike that he didn't hear anything being said behind him.

Prism got Pike's attention by his outburst. Pike stared at the larger unicorn intensely and took a deep breath in. "My 'business' is client by client. I don't stay in one place and I usually meet them in predetermined locations." The frustration building only slightly in his rich tenor, "I just happened to meet somepony yesterday here in the Undermarket and made a simple transaction, nothing more. I don't like to draw attention to my work unless I need new clients."
Pike glanced at his saddlebags. "And for the documents, I'm sorry but they are none of your business. They wouldn't be interesting to a..." choosing his words carefully "Rough and tumble pony such as yourself. Unless you really like facts and figures on ledgers."
Pike turned back to Jack and gave him an apologetic smile.

Jack ears perk up as he can hear a rustling, but he doesn't bother much about it since he thinks it was caused by some rats. Rats are a real plague down here and are the cause of some diseases.
Jack smiles back at Pike. "Transactions, huh?" he says and raises an eyebrow. "Ponies down here really have something to transact?"
After a couple of feet they take another turn and the first ponies approach them as they slowly reach the inhabited area of the sewer. "Welcome to the Undermarkted." Jack says to his group as they pass some shacks made from mostly garbage, rather sick looking ponies sitting in front of them. A couple feet more and they'll reach the rebel HQ.

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
Prism knew Jack was right no matter what they did he could just follow them and he was not about to hurt a pony just on a whim.
It was clear that anymore talk on the subject of Pike was not going to lead anywhere but this stallion would be someone to check on if anything happened down here Griffon wise. He left the comment of rough and tumble comment slide if that was all he thought he was then that was his mistake.
He feel back from the front wanting to give him some space from Pike and see if the friendliness of Jack would get him to say some things. When they started to get into the Undermarkted as Jack called it he saw what some of the pony's had to call home. This was not right why ponies should have to live like this.
He saw some of this sick pony's that was there. There was not anything he could do for them other then give them the few bits he had left and that’s what he did giving each one a bit still he had none left.

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
The earthpony looked around the Undermarket. Not much had changed since the day before. Perhaps there was more refuse, but it certainly was not as crowded as his previous visit. Pike kept an eye out for the unicorn, watching the other deliberately move away from Pike. This was okay, Pike wasn't down here to make friends, only money. Though he was not too keen on Prism, Jack seemed like a nice enough pony to throw a bone to.
"Yes, Jack," Pike confirmed the other's question. "In fact, I helped fund a Pegasus' business while I was down here." He looked all around him. "A legal business of course." He made this statement with pride, stepping over an emaciated, filthy pony reaching for a hoof-out. Jack seemed to be leading this group so, appealing to the common pony seemed to be a good decision. "I ran into this particular pony and felt the need to offer something of myself for her dreams." Pike's breathing slowed, did he give too much information on yesterday's deal? He continued to smile at Jack, awaiting his response.

"I ran into this particular pony and felt the need to offer something of myself for her dreams." Pike's breathing slowed, did he give too much information on yesterday's deal? He continued to smile at Jack, awaiting his response.

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
Joker had been following these ponies for a while. They chattered to each other like little birds, their tiny, equine voices echoing off the tunnel walls, letting any potential enemy sneak up on them, or in this case, a curious dog. Suddenly, more ponies came into view. These ones were obviously sick, lying on dirty mats in smelly hovels made of scrap wood and hay.
He had seen many sick dogs back in the tunnels. While he had tried to ignore them, they seemed to be everpresent in any city he went to. Even the grand cities in the Griffon Kingdoms had slums.
For a second, he feared that he would be detected, until he realized that if he shed a few layers of cloth and limped, he would look strikingly similar to these sick ones. As he dropped the disguise and reached for a pawful of mud, an emaciated hoof reached out to him, followed by a tiny, weak voice begging for help and food. He curled his lips in disgust, slapping the offending hoof away.
He rubbed the mud on his snout, dropped to all fours and limped after the group. Presto, a somewhat passable disguise as a friendly hobo. He kept his keen eyes on the group as she staggered after them, keeping a fair distance betwixt them for safety.

Zero decided to stay silent for the most part, keeping a close eye on Pike, the other out looking for whatever he felt was following them. A sort of 'Scout's intuition', if you will.
He found something especially fishy about this Pike character, althought he couldn't quite put his hoof on it... He seemed too... anxious, almost certainly hiding something.

Maya just walked silently besides Zero. this dirty place is the undermarket? so many ill and sick ponies.... and the rebels really have their base down here? Maya thought. of course the Rebels had to hide, but at leas they should have searched for a not so messed up place.
Maya didn´t cared much about this new pony, she just hoped he wouldn´t be a spy or something. But gray should know what he does so she just didn´t say anything abut it.

A couple of feet and another turn later Jack and his group stand in front of a building, which looks rather robust compared to the shacks made out of garbage. He turns to his group and checks, if nopony got lost. "Well, we reached our destination. You can take a seat in the lobby while I get the papers for your registration." he says and turns to Prism. "And I'll look if I can arrange a meeting for you, Prism."
Jack walks into he building and knocks against the door of Steel's office. "Are you there boss?"

After giving out all the bits he had on him he joined the group again. They soon found their way to the building or better shack that the rebels where using.
He looked around the lobby and as Jack was talking he looked to Pike "I think you can leav....." He hears his name being said and saw that Jack was looking right at him.
He gave Jack a cold angry stare; there was no way that Pike wouldn't have guessed that was at least part of his name. He was going to have a few works with Jack in private if this was how the rebels work then there was not going to be a rebel force for much longer. He looked back to Pike with a more natural look waiting to see what he would do.

Pike observed the Unicorn's angry expression at Jack. He thought it curious that the red pony had not mentioned his name but now he could identify the lot of them. Pike smiled a knowing smile at Prism, he wouldn't record this quite yet, the earth pony had a good memory for names and faces, but he was certain that this knowledge would come in handy.
But that look Prism gave Jack would not leave Pike's consciousness. Jack made a mistake and mistakes can be leveraged. He turned to Jack, "I know your friend, Prism would like me to leave when you conduct your business, but I was hoping to talk to your boss and possibly offer him a deal." Pike calmly approached the two ponies without any threat or sudden movements. "I'll make sure to keep everything I heard today discreet" He winked at Jack then looked at Prism. "As a measure of good faith I will allow you to look through my saddlebags." He kicked one bag up and down for emphasis.

Steel heard a shuffling and a knock on his door. He wondered who would be knocking at that moment. He made sure the dagger under the "Desk" (Really just a few planks of wood) was still concealed yet easily available. He opened the door, and said a polite "Hello. What can I do ya for?" He asked mostly out of habit, being a business owner. He saw the group before him, and of them only a few looked the tense. One looked particularly miffed, but he grinned as he saw a familiar face. "Ah, Jack, what a pleasant surprise." He said, instantly knowing that the ponies with Jack were probably decent folk. And probably weren't bent on killing him. He stepped out of the doorway, and into the hallway.

Joker saw that the ponies stopped. They seemed to be at then end of their travel, at a rather nondescript shack. He moved a little closer, beginning to wonder just exactly what this place was. He had heard something about a resistance group in the sewers somewhere, but doubted that these weak ponies could be a part of it.
As he watched, another pony answered their knock, stepping out into the dim light of the tunnel. He leaned in closer, accidently knocking his foot against a treacherously noisy tin can, followed by a fairly loud curse that would have burned the ears of innocent fillies.

Jack looks back to Pike with a raised eyebrow. "A deal? What can you offer to the rebellion, do we want to make a deal with you?" He looks at his bags as suddenly the door opens behind him.
Jack quickly stands at attention to greet Steel and relaxes again as he hears how casual he is. Jack positions himself unsuspiciously between Steel and the others, so an attacker would need to fight him first. Even if he trusts them somehow it's not enough to take the risk of an attack.
"Well, I found this three rebel candidates in a bar and I think they're a good additon to the rebellion." he says and points over to Zero, Maya and Prism. As his hoof points to Pike he stops and blinks. "Eh...and him. We met him in one of the tunnels and he was kinda lost, so we helped him and now he wants to make a deal."
Jack leans himself forward to Steel and whispers, not hearable for the others. "I couldn't really check him, so I would be really careful around him." He goes back to his casual position. "So, we need the registration papers for them and uh..." Jack points at Prism. "He wants to register in person." he says in a lowered voice to Steel.
Suddenly his ears perk up as he hears the sound of a tin can rolling over the floor. He looks over to the entrance and shouts, his hoof under his wing ready to draw his knife. "Who's there?!"

Prism listen to Pikes words very carefully, everyone one of them felt slimly to him he clearly was after something and the only think here that would be worth anything was information. Something that would both help and destroy the rebellion if they were not careful.
Prism took a step closer to Pike getting very close to his face his one eye staring right into Pike as if trying to read his very soul, he opened his mouth to speck but a door opening stopped him before he could say anything.
Looking around he could see Jack react to this new comer clearly this was the stallion they had come to see and with Jack's words it was clear that it was. When Jack pointed to Prism he nodded his head in acknowledgement.
With the sudden sound of a tin can rolling over the floor and Jack's reaction Prism turned on the spot taking a defence stance. His horn glowed white as he channelled his magic ready to use any number of spells based on what would happen next.

Pike Vanguard flinched at the sudden close-up he got from Prism. He backed up a few steps but kept staring right into that one eye. He smiled back, attempting to keep his aura of calm but was unnerved by the persistant distrust that the red pony exuded. In all fairness, Pike believed that Prism would have jumped at the opportunity to sneak through his saddlebags, knowing that just a bit ago Prism demanded to know what was inside. Maybe the unicorn believed Pike the first time. Not likely, but maybe.
He didn't notice the significance of the tin can and the cursing so Prism sparking his horn came as a surprise. "Hey, I didn't mean offense. I'm just here to talk, I don't intend to harm anypony!" Noticing that Prism wasn't looking at him, Pike turned to see what the unicorn was defending himself against.

Zero had stayed silent for the majority of the time, following the others while thinking fo himself. He paid special attention to Pike, who he decided he didn't like too well. The pegasus scanned him again and again, reading his face, his movements, speech and reactions. He'd met ponie like this before in his several years in the drug business... and all of them were either dead or never to be heard of again.
The fairly loud clank of a tin can came from behind, and he looked over to see what could've been the source. Prism and several others went into full defense, while Zero simply pulled his sleeve down to a more comfortable looking position.

Joker couldn't help but facepalm. So much for incognito. He stepped slowly into the light, shedding his disguise as he walked. Standing a good head over the smaller beasts of burden, his strong chest was covered in a reddish brown vest, a black, studded choker around his neck. His narrow green eyes glared at the pitiful creatures accosting him, his arms held up in the universal "Don't hit me, I'm not holding a big, ugly weapon in my paws"

maya just watched the ponies talking with each other and just waited for next orders. She wasn´t interrested to get in a verbal fight with the new one.
As she heard the tin, she quickly moved around to see who was there. Sh took out her tine crossbow out of her vest and aimed at the diamond dog that came out of the shadows. Maya placed herself between the diamond dog and Zero, just as a defending reflex. She didn´t wanted to loose the ponies she felts something for, like she did before. She stood quiet, waiting for orders of jack, or the new gray ponies which was the leader of the rebels.

Prism watched as the Diamond Dog stepped out from his hiding place, his eye narrowed and his horn got a little brighter but then it spoke and this put his mind at ease it was not a Halden Diamond Dog and he relaxed a little but still keep up his guard watching to see if it would make a move.
"Hold your position there, identify yourself and reason for being here" He said in a commanding voice locking eyes with the Dog.
He wasn't worried about a Diamond Dog he had to deal with a few in the war and was sure he could handle one if it comes down to it. He maybe unarmed but was sure his amour, that was under his large brown coat hiding and his skills would give those with weapons time they needed to end its life or take it prisoner.

Stunned, Pike backed away from the Diamond Dog and moved behind Prism. He instinctively felt that the unicorn would protect everypony in the area in need be. He also believed that moving outside of Prism's field of vision, the unicorn would forget a previous nastiness that had occurred between the two.
Pike had no interest in the newcomer but took the opportunity to attempt to peer into the makeshift office in which Jack stood outside of. He took a gander around Jack to see what was in the office and confirm who had spoken to Jack earlier. He hoped nopony would notice, but it was clear nopony trusted him in the first place. He might as well make the best of the situation while he still had a fleeting chance.

Steel watched as the ponies all turned, and all pulled various weapons out; save a few who stayed behind the ones. And this all started due to the sound of a tin can. Steel, who had not been there for the hesitation of spies, would have laughed at the situation had it been in a book. "Relax folks. It's a Diamond Dog, he isn't armed with anything." Steel stepped forward, standing next to Prism. "I already have one in my employ." he said with a nod. "I understand that being partially paranoid is good for the rebellion, but pulling all our weapons out for every little being that walks in, is doing more harm than good." he said.
As for Pike, simply looking into his office, he'd see some papers on a very basic desk, and a writing quill. He had several reports on his desk he had been looking over when he was intwerrupted.

Jack lowers his knife and put it back into the sheath. Maybe Steel is right. Maybe Jack really got even more paranoid after he joined the rebels, but even if that's true it's mostly, because if he makes a mistake now it will affect not only him alone.
He still watches the Diamon dog carefully. "Well, spying us out doesn't make him look very trustful." Jack says, his eyes fixed on the DD he doesn't notice Pike looking into the office.

Re: Meeting of Importance[open][dated]
Joker stands there, his arms raised and his eyes narrowed. Boy, how he hates these equines. Back home, he was taught that all equines were little more than beasts of burden, never undergoing the stress and danger of real life, perpetually playing in the sun that their Princess commands. They lived happy and carefree lives, even when a string of strange events started to pop up with regularity, from the return of the Moon Monarch to the God of Chaos to the Changeling Invasion. Now they were defeated, and finally forced to leave lives of luxury and get just a taste of what the other races had always persevered through.
Of course, it wasn't that the griffons were much better...
The red one's loud, commanding voice broke through his reverie. He growled low and quiet. He hated taking orders from anydog, even back home, and he would never stoop so low as to take one from a pony. But, he paused himself. This was neither the time or place for this. Socks needed him, and he had to get his act together. He needed money, and he needed protection, and for that he needed the help of these creatures.
He took a tenuous breath and blew it out, swallowing his angry retort and making a quite terrifying scowl that somewhat resembled a nightmarish smile appear on his face. He cleared his throat and spoke in his low, growling voice, "Put your weapons down, ponies. I have no quarrel with you. I was simply following you so as to find the headquarters of the Resistance. I am a businessdog, see? And I think that you will find what I have to offer to be profitable."
