Aella clambered up out of the sewer, thankful to be out of that foulness, even for a moment. She looked around the hastily-fortified room and its bedraggled occupants before motioning down into the hole.
"Come on everyone! Sewer or horrible death by rioters, your choice!"

Seeing that other griffons came out from below instead of bloodthirsty rioters, Kirtar lowered the stun baton and slung it across his back. "Not dying sounds good..." Kirtar said nonchalantly as he walked over to the hole and dropped through, waiting for the others to drop down as he landed in the filth that was in the tunnel. It was awful, but at least he wouldn't die a horrible death.

With the stone pony distracted and in the mood for talking Prism would push his attack. There was no point in talking as he had his mouth full with a sword.
He attacked with his first sword this one was more of a faint to distract him and with the second sword he want for the gap he was using to see through as that was always the right size to fit a sword through.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
The stone pony assumed Prism wouldn't talk to much, he had a weapon in his mouth because that helped his situation somehow. Seeing as how he had no chance of saying a word with a weapon in his mouth, why not try again when it isn't there?
Seeing Prism go in for another attack activated his combat senses once again, though still unclear to those around him because he kept laughing out loud as Prism closed in. It's in situations like this, that he was happy to be able to wield his weapon, and still have a free hoof. A very armoured hoof at that. The first attack came from the mouth held weapon, easily blocked with his own weapon. In that moment of close-interaction, Prism opted to go for his eyes, his helmets visor that did pretty much act like a mailbox for swords if it was aimed well.
His stone gauntlets acted almost like a Buckler at times, this being one of the shining examples. As Prism attempted to go for his eyes he let go of his weapon and swung his hoof to parry the sword, having caught it in time to force it to hit his helmet and bounce off, ending up with the sword sliding against his helmet and stopping out behind him. In this position, with the sword already past his helmet, he could freely move his hoof again without any immediate worry of attack. Prism was so close and in such a 'tangled' position that he couldn't move as freely as he did before.
The stone ponys choice of action was to throw a strong punch to Prism's head, assisted by his armours weight, in an attempt to daze him.
-----------------------------------------------------
The focus on the door stopped, as close as it was to falling, it simply stopped. The crowd outside drew it's gaze towards the airship hovering within sight. They looked up at the Griffon's play on dominance and knew what it was intended to do, and what it will do given time. To this crowd, any sign of Dominance over them was to be torn down. Even the crowd surrounding Prism and the others drew more focus on the airship than the fight before them.
Was the crowd going to just submit in the face of Griffon strength?
"To the moon with this!" came a cry amongst the crowd, after some time of gazing, and no action taken. "If you don't have wings, start making fires or anything the can cause them! If you have, get ready to fly because we are gonna try our hooves at being pirates! Who's with me!? HOORAAAH!" The same voice called, followed by the battle cry of every rioter in the area. In a matter of moments small fires were made, and torches were lit. Fire bottles were quickly made up of anything flammable and all rioters who had access to tools like blowtorches or any tools that'll be useful brought them to the table. All of the pegasi in the crowd were being armed with fire and tools of sabotage, their morale soaring at the thought of getting at the airship.
The crew inside the bunker had began going underground, though the one's who were still inside caught on to the fact that things outside had changed.
"What the hell are they doin'?" One griffon asked. Causing a few questioning looks to go around, though mainly at Kroll. Because he had the the best chance at knowing what is happening, and if it's bad.
One Griffon moved to the door to take a peek outside, the rioters weren't focused on the door at all anymore. "They're making fires, is that bad? Tell me that's not bad." he said as he quickly went back towards the hole in the floor.

Serene Tranquility sighed. "It's hopeless then. If we fight, we only get in the way. If we flee, we run to our deaths." Serene looked at the ring of ponies surround the battle only to notice most of them were staring skywards. As she looked up and spotted the airship, Serene's heart sunk even deeper as the rioters started to cheer and take up arms.
"What?! No! You can't set the airship ablaze! What if it crashes into one of the residential districts? Hundreds of ponies could die!" Serene tried to shout over the crowd, to make her plea heard but she feared that it would be drowned out by all of the hate.

Tida looked up to the airship that stopped in front of the area. An airship... it seems as the griffons really want this to stop. Tida noticed that the crowd is whipped up in a frenzy, building anything to burn the airship down. Tida wanted to laugh, laugh at the stupidity of what they were doing, though he didn't like the implications that their actions would have later on. I wonder if they're going to charge the front of the airship with... you know... their weapons pointed straight at them. Truly brilliant.
Tida looked at Serene. "Now would be the best time to leave, seeing as the crowd is distracted" Tida whispered to Serene.

Refuge also found a cruel humour in what he heard the rioters saying. The ponies were almost certainly going to get themselves killed, but as Refuge considered, they were meaning to kill ponies and griffons for little good reason, so what did he care? And this was opening up opportunity... The shouts of that mare weren't nearly so funny, though. She didn't seem to realize words had failed, and it was time to leave.
Walking over to Tida and Serene, he said to the mare, "Listen, I dunno about you but I don't feel like dyin' today. If you could stop lettin' the angry rioters know they forgot to kill us, I would really appreciate it."

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
Kroll peered out the bunker door and frowned. The other griffon was right, it looked like the rioters had completely lost interest in trying to break down the door and had become occupied with making fires. Looking up the sky, the captain realized that the airship that was scheduled to make a run over the city had finally arrived. The tercel made a silent offer of gratitude to the gods before closing the door and turning back to the remaining griffons.
"Alright, looks like things might turn in our favor here shortly, but we will need to act quickly." said the captain as pulled out a flare gun and began to load it. "Aella, I need you to make sure that the rest of the guards here get down to the sewers safely and meet up with the others at the entry point, understood? Once everyone has regrouped, they are to go back to the observation point on the rooftop a few blocks from here. I will catch up with the rest of you as soon as I can, now get going!"
Turning his attention back towards the rioters, Kroll took a deep breath as he opened the bunker door again, keeping a firm grip on the flare pistol in his claw. He inched himself halfway out onto the street and looked around at the fracas before him. It had been a long time since the captain had seen an equivable level of senseless violence and destruction of this magnitude, and he thought himself a fool for thinking that he would have to see it again.
In a cosmic sort of way it was almost funny; before he had even left the rooftop to embark on this rescue mission, when he was watching the smoke of the fires rise from the Eastern District, the tercel thought that there just might still be a chance for a peaceful means to ending these bloody riots. But standing before the rioters out on streets and hearing their hate-filled cries rise and mix with the black smoke of the fires they started banished such wishful hopes from the captain's mind, burying them in the depths of his body. No, the time for talking peace had come and gone. The rioters had made their choice, and it was time that the captain had done the same.
Looking up at the airship that hung over the district like an angel amongst the depths of hell, Kroll raised the flare pistol straight into the air and fired. With an audible click, the flare launched from the gun's barrel and streaked into the sky, casting a sickly glow among the plumes of smoke it passed by on its flight. Giving the airship a wistful smile, the captain holstered the flare pistol and walked back inside the bunker, closing the metal door behind him. As much as it saddened him that such means had to be resorted to, the tercel lamented that he would not be able to watch what was surely going to be a fantastic spectacle. Oh well, seeing the aftermath would have to suffice. Slipping through the hole in the floor, Kroll made his way back down into the sewers and set off to catch up with the rest of his squad.

When the airship's crew saw the signal flare arc through the sky, they wasted no time in doing what they had been called by the city to do. The air was cut by a a series of drumrolls as the ballistas on the airship's port side unleashed their first volleys of the specialized arrows they had been, which flew in a slight arc before descending down on the rioters in the streets below.

Kirtar was getting slightly tired, and disgusted of waiting for the others in the filth of the sewers by himself. To keep his mind off of the boredom, as well as the fact he was standing in who knows what, he started to sing a song to keep his moral up at a time like this.
♫And the district burned, burned, burned
And they're the ones that did it
It burned, burned, burned
While its residents ran and cried
It burned, burned, burned
And things were very hysterical
And everyone cried and ran like a bunch of little babies WaWaWa
In the riots going on now♫
He chuckled, and noticed that the rest of the squad that was trapped in the bunker as well as the hen with the green eyes was here. Noticing that she was nervous, Kirtar said to her "I don't know what you're so nervous about, but you shouldn't be so nervous, especially now. In any case, we should get going".

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
Prism had been too fixed on the fight and didn't spot the airship till just this moment and it distracted him from the fight at the wrong moment. He didn't dodge the blow that was coming at him, it hit him square on the jaw and knocked him. He rolled with the blow still but it did knock him to the ground but he rolled to his hooves still.
He did as he was getting up seeing the flare go off and this time he got a good look at the airship. It was a Mjolnir class. There was no way he was taking that on not with out a skilled Pegasus team. He knew what was coming as he had been on the hull of a Mjolnir class before and knew what they were armed with, the fight with the earth pony was over it was now about survival. He jumped to his hooves he estimated 15-20 seconds before the rain of arrows come down. He called out to those that had jumped in when he did to save the earth pony "GET CLOSE TOGETHER DON'T MOVE!!" He shouted at them, if they didn't listen there was nothing he could do.
He stopped and turned back so he could see the airship there was clear signs it was firing, Prism horn glowed bright white as he put a lot of power into the spell as a white shield fell around the group. Sweat started to run down Prism as he made the shield as strong as he could and got ready for the impacts.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
The Stone Pony left Prism to play hero. He himself didn't expect a flying boat, but that just made it more entertaining. However, for a few moments he wasn't laughing, "Oh, OH! Ruin my fun will you, you floaty tin can of chicken! Fine!" he shouted at the Airship. Realising that he wouldn't get peace to get the information he wanted from Prism, he slung his weapon over his back and began nonchalantly strolling away from Prism and into the city. Giggling as he walked, "Ok, ok. New plan! We find someone else! No, wait... yeah, that could work..." he said as he gained distance from Prism, even as the shots rained down on the crowd, he almost completely ignored the danger as he disappeared into the chaotic streets.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Spread out! Don't be an easy target! If you have nothing to do just stay in cover!" A rioter yelled, a few moments after the flare was launched. The crowd responded as expected, mostly panic. Though many did manage to get into buildings and find good cover on the streets or behind the buildings themselves, many didn't.
As the shots reached the crowd many were hit, but the command to spread out did cause more to miss where they would have hit. After the first barrage, they only had a few seconds to get into the air. "Okay, everybody set!? Let's go!" the lead pegasus yelled as he and all his comrades took off. "Stay under their fire! And keep an eye out for any of it's crew that comes out to play!".
Meanwhile, the crowd continued to take a battering, and if they hadn't already found cover, they began fleeing the streets with the likely intention of going home, hopefully, with that intention.

Serene's heart skipped a beat as the ship fired down at the streets below it. She closed her eyes, too afraid and too shocked to react. There was screaming but there was no pain. Opening her eyes, she saw the barrier that Prism had erected. Her relief was soon again replaced by disbelief as she saw the rioters continue their suicidal mission that will end up with deaths for both sides.
"We should go..." She said to the small group of sane ponies she was with. She hoped that the other nurses made it out okay.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
Even though Tida as well as the others were right in the middle of the assault by the griffons, he couldn't help but watch in awe and amazement at the scene going on outside of the shield. It all seemed... surreal, though most things like this usually seem surreal. Looking at Prism, it looked like that he was focused intensely, struggling slightly to maintain the shield. Tida didn't dare disturb him, as he didn't want to break his concentration which would result in the arrows raining down on their heads, though, it would hurt to have some sort of plan in the case the shield dispersed.
Hearing Refuge snapped Tida out of his train of thought. "Focusing on things like that won't help out the situation at all. Everypony is on edge as it is, so now isn't the best of times to say things like that. Besides, I don't think that the rioters care about us anymore, as they seem to be focused on that airship."
Tida started looking around for the nearest building. "I agree that we should leave, though we shouldn't right now, as there are many arrows coming down. Maybe the griffons' assault will let up long enough for us to leave. We should be ready to run to the nearest building in the case that doesn't happen" he said to Serene as he continued to look around.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
There were many things Refuge could've said, had he been a wiser or wittier pony. Perhaps a heartfelt apology for his involvement in infuriating the crowd was in order. Perhaps he could say that if you forgave his earlier tone, his message of 'I don't want to die' wasn't unfair. Perhaps he could suggest a clever way out of this situation. There were a million things he might, perhaps, have said.
Unfortunately, Refuge would utter none of those things before a single question gripped his mind and forced its way out before he could think twice: "Wait, you can talk?" he asked Tida.
Fortunately, he did still have the sense to at least try retracting this afterwards, and quickly said, "Wait, never mind... But hey, if you're plannin' a getaway... can I go with you? Please?" he asked, fear at last beginning to break free in his tone beyond his ability to hide it.

Kroll gagged slightly as he made his way back through the sewers below the streets, the horrible stench almost making him wish he was still topside among the rioters. Almost. Upon regrouping with his squad and the guards they had rescued, the captain did a quick head-count to make sure that everyone was present and accounted for. "Alright gents, excellent work back there. No I'm not sure about the lot of you, but I'd like to go home before I contract some kind of disease from standing around in this filth. Let's get topside and head on back to the observation post. Once we're packed up we'll head on back to HQ where it's medical checks and thorough bathing for everyone."
With nod the tercel made his way to the front, patting Aella on the shoulder as he walked past her and began to lead the griffons out of the sewers and back the way they came.
_____________________________________
Up above the Eastern Residential District, the airship continued to unleash its payload of nonlethal arrows into the crowds below. As the airborne rioters drew closer to their target, a few of the ballistas on the starboard side of the ship retracted and were replaced with black cannons that had widened muzzles. After the remaining ballistas loosed another volley of arrows, the first cannon fired with a deafening crack, launching a wide, chainlink net at the airborne rioters, the hefty metal components violently twisting and unraveling as it hurtled towards its intended target.

Aella nodded to Kitrar.
"Getting going sounds good"
The Hen flinched as Kroll patted her on the shoulder, slowly turning to look at the filthy talonprint on her coat. She made a keening sound and her eye twitched as the waded through the sludge after her handler.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
Kirtar smirked a little. He really didn't like the idea of going to HQ, but the tercel was right: he would probably contract some kind of disease if he didn't go and wash up, and make sure that he didn't already contract some kind of a disease already from the medical facility, but still...
Nodding at the suggestion, Kirtar followed the tercel out of the sewers.

Prism was able to hold the shield over the group because they were nonlethal it wasn't putting to much stress onto the shield. If they were normally arrows he would be having a lot harder time.
"For Celestria sake will you lot stop talking about getting out of here and look for a safe space to run too. These arrows may be nonlethal but I can't hold the shield for ever." It was clear they were not going up with a plan at lest not that fast.
"Look for a safe spot were the arrows are not hitting the next short brake in the firing we get I lower the shield and you make a run for it" He was looking at the ship changing to cannons then netting was going to mess up the perseus that it hit, but it was still to far away for him to do anything of use for now his worry was to do this lot out of there.

Re: [RIOT EVENTS, OPEN] Skirmishes in the Slums!
Once the ballistas barrage slowed, and the cannons took their place, a rioter saw what was coming and gave out warning. "They have fishnets! Get under their fire or you'll get caught by them!" Thanks to using the simple terminology, all the airborne rioters understood what he mean't and what was coming. Rather than head straight towards their target, they changed course and aimed to get under the airship moments before the cannons fired. Some even flat out stalled their flight to get lower than the ship had aimed. Though there were a couple of unlucky ones, it was not enough to deter the rioters continued attack.
Their destination was to first get under the airship, then fly up to it.
