Sons of Nobility (Private: Tech and Johan: Chili and Rhena, optional)
December 19th
Port De'Luge
Airship/Zeppelin Docking Bay
Johan gave a shiver in the brisk, chill wind that blew from the sea, into the damp bay where all incoming airships docked into De'Luge. Dressed in uniform, the Colonel had his full raiment on (including his metal field-mask) and a form-fitting cloth uniform hugged his thin frame.
Holding a wooden walking stick in his left talon (topped with a stylized iron wolf's head) the crippled griffon waited nervously. He had recieved a letter from one of his colleagues back in the Kingdoms; apparently, his fellow Colonel's son (for indeed, the colleague was a Colonel in the army) was "immigrating" to the fair city of Manehatten. And apparently, his colleague wanted Johan to make sure Tech had a cushy military contract (and a home on De'Luge) to start the young griffon's career.
Johan, hoping that this young heir to the Gaensweld legacy had all the professionalism of his father, tentatively accepted. However, as the airship containing the young griffon docked into the large island fort, the Colonel began having serious doubts that his decision... had been the right one.

As he walked out onto the deck of the airship as it docked at the fort, Tech shuddered a little at the frigid wind that blew past him. Tech was ill equipped for the cold air, wearing no clothing to protect him from the cold. Instead, what Tech wore with him was everything he owned, stored away in two saddlebags and a satchel he carried with him.
Walking onto solid land, Tech spotted a Griffon that was waiting, seemingly for him. Under normal circumstances, he would've assumed the Griffon was merely a guard meant to inspect passengers as they board and exit airships, but it was easy to deduce that this Griffon was no mere guard. Tech could sense that the strange, masked Griffon was important, but at the same time something about him made him feel a bit uneasy.
Deep in the back of Tech's mind, he had a creeping feeling that he already knew who he was and why he was here. But, there was only one way to find out. Walking over to him, Tech stopped in front of the Griffon and saluted as a sign of respect. "Greetings. I assume you wish to speak with me?"

Johan looked to the young griffon, observing the Gaensweld heir thoughtfully. So this is the griffon I'm supposed to give a leg up... well, it seems he's full of piss and vinegar, by the way he carries himself. Perhaps this won't be as bad as I thought..
As the griffon approached, Johan nodded in greeting. When he spoke, the accent of a Halden noble emanated from his mask, warm and friendly; however, the voice held the pattern of one used to command.
"Yes, I would very much like to speak with you, Tekalius. I am Colonel Johan Tercel, commanding officer of Port De'Luge and of the military forces in this city. May I extend my warmest greeting to this city, weather notwithstanding." Chuckling, the crippled griffon placed his walking stick by his side, and brought forth his one living talon. "Your father sent a message telling me you would be arriving today."
