Re: 'Twas a Dark and Stormy Night... [Open][Dated]
Storm had begun to fly north, a way to escape the griffons. In doing so, she flew directly over their entire garrison, and, as she heard the head honcho barking out orders, she grew fearful. She didn't want to die, but there was a very high chance she would. So, in all her might, she landed, cracking a bit of the concrete roof of a building under her mass. She was winded, panting heavily from the strenuous flight, wishing only for a bit of respite, which she would never get. A click resounded through the night as she removed her sword and sheathed it, placing her spear into a ready position in her bracer, readying herself for a fight. If she was to die, there would be fourty griffons to die before her.
As she finished, she couldn't help but find this whole situation very familiar. Sure, she had seen it before- many times, she was on the run from griffons, during and after the war, however there was never a party of this caliber. She sighed as she glared through the night, hoping to see the incoming griffons. She was not that far from her old house, admittedly- she could still see the orange glow from the rooftops around it.

The Griffons, though they tailed their mark and had scented blood, were unable to see much in the rain and darkness of the night. Nearly perfect conditions for an escape, the Griffons realized this and split up in anticipation of a long, drawn out manhunt. The only information they had was that the pony was a Pegasus in full armor- but that was more than enough, the curfew having eliminated any possible doubt of identities.
The thunder clapping night made communications difficult, so when a small party of three caught glimpse of the Pegasus in a flash of lightning, they were unable to find, nor even communicate with the rest of the manhunt. They had been ordered to land, and to engage the suspect themselves and attempt an arrest.
Finding that to be too easy a proposition, they instead opted to hover above, and aim their crossbows with intent to kill. They would pincushion Storm, and sort out the paperwork later- and with that thought, they opened fire.

Storm had been watching the skies, but had been unable to catch any griffons. She still assumed a combat stance, panting heavily, as her burns were beginning to bleed under the armor now. She knew she wasn't going to last long against more than a few griffons, so she waited, attempting to calm her breathing, and the panicky jittering that came along with it. She shook violently still, slightly due to the cold, mostly out of gut-wrenching fear of death.
The trail of panic came full out as the first bolt hit her, the head designed to puncture armor. It's draw was sufficient to puncture her armor, but now, the bolt had speared it's way straight through to her flesh on her back. The second one hit it's mark as well, damaging her further. A third hit in her back as well, blood diluted with water beginning to drip from the holes in her armor. She sighed, knowing the alloy was going to be difficult to replace. From the pain of the bolts, she figured that the griffons were above her, so, as the next volley came, she bolted upward, avoiding the bolts glinting in the dim backdrop of the fire. The griffons were easy enough to spot now, their armor glinting in the little light available. She targeted one, her spear primed to strike into it's torso, but, as she went to make the strike, a bolt pierced her left wing, and, along with a blood curdling scream, she began to fall down, down toward the ground.
Now, this scream was loud. Very loud, loud enough to probably alert more griffons in the area. Her fall was not graceful, nor uncontrolled; her useful wing made sure of that. However, as she was attempting to control her crash, she slammed into a building shoulder-first, sliding down two stories into the alleyway, on her left side. A resounding 'crack' was heard as Storm winced in pain, trying to get up. Soon after, she succeeded, moving to somewhere she could hide. In her luck, she found a sewer grate in the alleyway. Lucky for her, there was a large enough area to where she could fit in, however, that was not on the grate it's self, rather the area that was above the grate but still functioned in the drain. She slipped through it, impacting the dirty, microorganism-infested water below.
In this water, she began to limp, through a small channel into the actual sewer system it's self, below the streets. Surprisingly, there was a little bit of light streaming down from a drain, probably from a street's torchlight. She sighed as she began to wander, moving in one direction, with little other thought in her mind, besides pain. She had nearly died, and she knew it. Her entire body shook violently, as every breath became raspier and raspier in panic... she still continued forward, however.

Abaddon heard the sound of the griffons, which seemed to chase for storm. This was The perfect moment for him to flee. he slowly sneaked out of the back door. looking around for other griffons around. It seemed no griffon was at the back door anymore. He rand into the small side streets. The rain was still falling and made a bad sight. He hoped he wouldn´t run into some griffons. he had to find a new shade for the night.

As Abaddon left the building, a blaze exploded in a brilliant and terrible conglageration formed. An auto-ballistae bolt struck a major gas line in the building, shaking the foundation of home and knocking out the masonry along its front side. As Abaddon fled, the building collapsed behind him, terminating into a heap of bricks and lumber...

Abaddon heard the collapsing of the building behind him, then he remembered storm saysing something about some ponies which rented flat there. "These Griffons don´t have hearts, niether they have brains." He said. He didn't know where to run, because he didn't know this city. As he followed the alley he found himself on a bigger street. Where a few griffons where searching for him.

Re: 'Twas a Dark and Stormy Night... [Open][Dated]
The Griffons, coincidentally, were not part of the party who was actively searching for Storm. They were, in fact, just a random collection of Guerrillas- it just so happened, though, that Abaddon was a pony out past curfew; not only that, but he was carrying a blade. Both of those were offenses warranting death on sight.

Abaddon stopped immediately as he saw the griffons flying towards him. he ran back into the small alley to get a small advantage. As the first spear moved towards abaddon he avoided it to blocking it with his sword and managing the spear to move beside of him. So he was close to the first griffon. He stabbed towards the griffon with his sword.

The griffon hadn't anticipated a feint, and took the blow of the blade alongside his face, severing his helmet from his head and knocking him against the adjacent wall.
The remaining Griffons paused, adjusting their flight slightly to rest at the outlet of the alley. The advanced slowly, in unison, halberds forward anticipating a quick stab.

Abaddon slowly walked backwards as the remaining griffons walked towards him. He needed a plan, he couldn´t just fight 4 griffons without a plan. Abaddon looked around. all he was able to spot was some trash and..... the fact hes walking backwards into a blind alleay. "Damn!" he said. Then took hi sword and lighted it up. May he could defeat them with some fire. He lit up the trash on the ground with his sword and strengthen the fire with his magic, so it would burn even through the rain (which has gotten a bit less heavy.)

Xarith was in a hurry.
He had been caught outside in the rain during a quick trip. He hadn't anticipated to take so long outside and thought he would be back before the rain began, but earlier complications proved otherwise.
And to add insult to injury, the rain only proved to slow him down even more so as he jumped and skated from rooftop to rooftop. He had already flipped his board onto his back. While he didn't feel quite safe riding around the slippery surfaces of the buildings, it also served to protect his back from getting drenched to some degree.
Xarith took a count of his surroundings as he spotted a few landmarks. In his mind, the zebra quickly worked out a way to his shop in the rain. He turned and faced an alleyway that distanced two buildings. He quickened his pace as he tensed himself to traverse the gap.
Suddenly, the tell glow of fire flared up from the alley, causing the zebra to plant his hooves into the ground to halt himself. He stopped right over the edge just to get enough of a view of the street below. Though what he saw disheartened him just a bit.
A unicorn had gotten himself cornered in a alley way as a couple of griffons slowly advanced towards the flames. The situation didn't look too light, even in the fires that illuminated the walls.
Xarith rolled over things quickly in his mind. Really thinking about it, he couldn't cross this gap without being spotted by one of those griffons, and by the looks of the weapons they held, he didn't want to get himself in any sort of fight with them. He thought quickly as a light smile appeared on his features.
"Well, at least this unicorn can benefit from this as well," he said to himself as his voice was concealed in the rain. Reaching into his bag and pulling out two vials, he looked at them to make sure he had the right ones. The vials held a noxious looking green liquid that swirled around in the class as he moved it around in his hooves.
Xarith just kept his smile as he threw both potions to the ground next to the advancing group of griffons, watching carefully as a large cloud of green gas engulfed the griffons.
"That should keep them occupied for a while," he thought to himself. Looking down to the unicorn below, he flashed a smile and gave a quick salute as lightning lit up the sky to light his figure. Then backing up, he jumped across the roof and continued on back to his shop with haste.

Abaddon didn´t saw a possible way out of i. he was sure he would die this night. Abaddon was surprised as he hear the sound of a bottle which got crushed to the ground. As the smoke started to spread Abaddon looked up and just saw a silhouette of someone. He managed to ran between the griffons and stood behind them. He thought of fleeing, but he also hated them too much to let them still alive. If he wouldn´t be able to take them down, he had a t leas a way out then, thanks to that mysterious pony.

The Griffons, innocent of their comprehension of chemical warfare stood up straight, inhaling as if to identify the chemical- that's when it struck them. The effects of the gas were swift, effective, and crippling. The Griffons keeled over, suffocating in the green odor, blinded and angry and above all pitiful.
They gradually found themselves running from the scene, stumbling and crashing into the various implements and scenery of the street. Unable to grope out a path or even communicate, they flailed about half-heartedly, blades in hand, trying to stave off imaginary attackers...
