An Unexpected Visitor
November 28th, Evening
As Kroll stood on the roof of the Clocktower, he couldn't help but look out at the horizon. The sun was just beginning to set, and cast a soft pink color against the clouds in the sky, mixed with subtle hints of orange and grey. And if he was not the griffon that he was known to be, Kroll would've most likely fallen to his knees and cried like a fledgling. And after a long, arduous day of work, the Captain felt that this sunset was an ample reward.
With the sun nearly fading over the horizon, Kroll felt it was about time to head off. Rather than taking the easy way and flying off, he figured it would be more enjoyable to rappel off the side. He started to walk around the Clocktower's unstable roof, searching for a good point to set up his rope. That's when the roof collapsed.
With a sharp crumbling sound, a weathered portion of the Clocktower's roof broke, sending several years-worth of debris into the interior of the building below. This wouldn't have been a problem, if Kroll hadn't fallen in along with the rubble. Snapping his wings open to slow his descent, Kroll hit the ground roughly, dropping to one knee as more debris showered down on and round him. So much for ending the day on a high note.

*Although the debris covers a good portion of the room, it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that someone has been living in this room for quite some time. Various rations of food and empty jugs of water are scattered around the room. At first glance, the room seems empty.*

Kroll slowly stood back up, shaking most of the debris off of him. As his eyes adjusted to the moderate darkness of the room, he began to to take notice of the eclectic assortment of food rations and water containers scattered about the room. He crouched down to some of the containers closest to him, examining them. By the looks of it, they've been here for a little over a month...

Iris watches Kroll from the shadows, not making a sound, and hidden very well masked by the darkness. She has one blade drawn in her mouth, waiting for her chance to strike. Maybe if I time it right, there won't be much of a fight... she thinks, not taking her eyes off the intruder.

Placing the container back down, Kroll looked around for any other signs of somebody living inside the Clocktower. Though it had been abandoned for years, Kroll wasn't surprised at the idea that somebody had been using the Clocktower as a hidey-hole.

Iris pauses trying to figure out what to do. As Kroll walks past her, her instincts kick in and she stands on her hind hooves , switching her knife from her mouth to her left fore hoof and placing the dagger to Kroll's neck. "Don't move." The pain in her hind legs starts to become unbearable and she sits back on a piece of rubble, using her knife to guide Kroll's neck backwards so that she may still reach him.

Upon feeling the blade press up against his neck, Kroll stiffened. Though startled considerably, the griffon remained stoic and quiet as he slowly inched back to avoid the blade cutting into him. Well, he thought to himself. at least now I know someone's still living in here...

"What are you doing here?" she says keeping the blade tight up against Kroll's neck. Without waiting for him to reply to the first question, she asks another "Do you know who I am?" This question is asked in more of a worried manner rather than pompous.

Re: An Unexpected Visitor
Kroll was slightly confused by the question his assailant posed him, seeing as how the interior of the Clocktower was relatively dark, and even after his eyes adapted to the lack of light, the captain had no opportunity to see the wielder of the knife at any time. "No, I can't say that we've met..." the captain replied with a sigh.
As the shock of the sneak attack wore off, Kroll took an inventory of the current situation, trying to figure a way out of this. Step one would be to get the knife away from his neck, if not out of the grasp of his attacker. He noted that the voice of whoever what holding the knifesounded rather young, and because of the shift in the blades position...it almost felt like his attacker was...sitting down? Strange, but escapable. All he needed was an opening.

Iris attempts to stand on her hind legs once more "If you leave here and pretend this never happened, I won't have to kill you." although she attempts to hide it while she speaks, it is obvious that she is in pain.

"I said leave!" A second blade slashes at Kroll's left arm. In doing so, she stumbles on her hind-legs causing her to fall back, screaming in pain. The first blade releases from Kroll's neck and drops to the floor. The only thing there to break the mare's fall is a bunch of wooden boxes, which only add to the pain.

Kroll quickly lept forward and spun around to face his attacker, ignoring the gash in his arm. He stared at the young mare with a confused glare, somewhat surprised at the age of assailant. But all things considered, the captain had put up with stranger.
Grabbing the mare by her still-bladed arm, Kroll wrenched Iris up from out of the pile of wooden boxes, pinning her to the ground. He stared into her, saying nothing.

Iris is covered in scars, various wounds on her body opening back up, her head bleeding again. She weakly drops the other dagger from her hoof and looks up in Kroll's direction, but it is clear that he is the last thing on her mind right now. The one thought that is overwhelming her sense of danger and her sense of fear right now is the excruciating pain in her hind legs and the recently opened gash in her forehead.

Kroll looked down at the wounded mare, studying her and her injuries. After a few more moments of silence, he reached into the medical pouch on his vest and began to quietly re-bandage Iris' open wounds. The weren't permanent fixes, but good enough to last for now.

Iris' eye twitches and she feels like pulling away from the griffon. Normally, she would act on impulse, but given the circumstances, she doesn't dare refuse his help. She grimaces and her mind returns back to the pain as the wound on her forehead is bandaged. She contemplates killing the griffon after he treats her wounds, being that she may go to jail soon after. Her thoughts of murder are quickly overwhelmed and vanish from the pain.

The griffon finishes treating the mare's wounds and looks around at the interior of the Clocktower, looking for a means of exit. The hole he made in the roof was a viable option, but rather inconvenient. An even larger question would be what to do with the would-be assailant, seeing as how she tried to kill him, if not threaten him. Kroll continued to stare quietly at the mare as he kept his weight on her, trying to smooth out a plan in his head.

Kroll looked back down at the mare he was kneeling on, sighing. He slowly straddles over her, keeping his weight on her torso. After staring at the mare for a few more moments, Kroll lunges forward, threading his arm Iris' neck and through her armpit, and grasping the bicep of the opposing arm. He then begins to squeeze tightly, starting to cut off the blood flow to her neck.

Kroll kept a firm grip as Iris thrashed beneath him, making an odd humming sound as she tried to get out from under him. When her body went limp, Kroll relaxed his grip a little, pausing to listen to hear if the mare was still breathing. He frowned, turning his head slightly, looking at the mare's hind legs.
After tightly coiling his tail around one of them, Kroll twisted the mares leg about in a curious fashion

Iris' screams turn into failed attempts to speak or breathe. She weakly squirms around attempting to break free from her constraints. Her hoof reaches for the dagger she dropped, just out of reach. She continues to squirm for thirty or so seconds, her attempts becoming weaker as time goes by, before eventually, she becomes still.

Kroll relaxes as he feels the mare go limp, smiling a little at his success. Thirty seconds was a tad too long though, but that would have to be addressed later. After dragging the unconscious Equestrian onto a tattered rug on half of the Clocktower floor, the griffon took out his expeditionary machete and cut out a generous length of the carpet, rolling the mare up inside it like a taquito.
After hefting the sinister carpet roll over one shoulder, Kroll made his way to a door, forcing it open before slipping outside. It was the early evening now, and curfew was not too far away. Shifting his load a little, the griffon began to walk down the street, away from the ruined Clocktower.

Kroll carried the sinister carpet roll all the way to Griffon Headquarters, dumping Iris' in the nearest available cell in the dungeon. After ensuring that all of the mare's belongings were in the care of the jailer, Kroll headed back up the stairs and walked to Feliks' office. Realizing the commander was out, the captain simply laid the bloodied rug out in front of the the door to Feliks' office, like some sort of grizzly welcome mat.
After penning a brief note and attaching it to the rug, Kroll walked off towards the medical ward to get some stitches for his arm. The new prisoner would have to wait.

Re: An Unexpected Visitor
Scanion wandered around the HQ looking for Kroll, he had to report his progress like he was ordered. And the one he needed to report to was nowhere to be found. Most likely out doing something but he wasn't sure, and he had nothing else to do. So he hoped for another order to keep or waste his time at the very least.
On the verge of giving up he passed by rooms in the medical ward on his last attempt to look for his superior, until he actually saw him getting stitched up. He knocked on the door to gain his attention, "What have you been doing to get another one of those Captain?" trying to avoid sounding smug. And doing a good job at it. He wouldn't take smug talk to anybody lower than him, nor would he give it to anybody higher.

"I've sent Void after another target for now, Apparently a real pain to us. As for the identity of the letter, I'm pretty sure it's the target I came here to get. You get that feeling when you see a message written in blood threatening your death." Scanion replied. "Other than that, I've got no leads as of yet. And nothing to do."

Kroll sighed a little as he continued walking, looking over at Scanion. "Earlier this evening I was milling about the city, just getting some fresh air on the roof of that old clocktower, the one on Main Street...anyway, I fell inside when the roof collapsed, and ended up having a little skirmish with a mare who was living inside. That's how I got this lovely cut on my arm."
The captain paused, stopping at the stairway that led to the dungeon. "Anyway, I managed to subdue her, and now she's currently taken up residence in one of the cells down there. I figured that given your background, you'd be more than willing and able to see if she...knows anything." Kroll looked at Scanion with a raised brow. "Does that sound like something you'd like to do, Sergeant?"

The captain crossed his arms, looking at the unconscious mare with a look of speculation. "She was living in that clocktower for quite some time...and she also seemed awfully concerned about whether I knew who she was or not. I know it's not much to go on, but I have a feeling that she may be of value to us, one way or another."

"Oh, I'm sorry did I disturb your sleep? Do you want breakfast made for you? Well, good luck with that because now that your left to me that's the last thing you'll be getting." He said menacingly, whilst having various different thought of what he could do to this pony. But first he wanted to know if this pony fit the description he had.
He picked the mare up by the neck and observed her, immediately he noticed one big flaw. The lack of any visible horn, his actual target was a Unicorn. He gave an irritated 'Hmph' at that realization, but grinned immediately after.
Scanion tightened his grip around the mare's neck, not giving her time to breath, never mind wake up fully, "So tell me, why do you live in that clock tower, and why were you so concerned about your identity?" He would lessen his grip to let the mare speak if she tried.

Scanion tightened his grip again while he spoke, so that he was not interrupted. Basically choking the mare. "Awful nice of him to give you a lift every time you want to go somewhere. I have to say I hardly believe that, and that doesn't answer any of my questions. I asked you 'Why' you were living there, not how you got there." He lessened his grip to let the mare breath again and allow her to speak.

Now that was more believable. A Griffon had helped her into the tower to heal, that gave him 2 more questions but he still wanted his other one answered. "Ok then, you still haven't answered my other question, why are you so concerned about your identity?" He said as he took his combat knife out, and made it very visible to his toy. Scanion shook his head disappointingly, he warned her. He slammed the mare against the floor, then held her front-left leg on out against the floor then drove his knife into the lower half of the same leg, so hard it got stuck in the floor a little. He then took hold of her neck again, "I did not ask you about what anybody else told you! What. Is. Your. Name." He said angrily, hoping to instill more fear into the mare through words as well as leaving her leg impaled on the floor.
