A bardic supper [Closed]

After his performance, String earned quite a few bits with which he bought himself a plate of tomato soup, what's left was 2 thirds of the earnings which he will donate to mercy again, a plate of soup every three days.

He smiles at the soup, finally able to put something in his muzzle,w arm and nutritious, after three days of nothing, of an empty belly, he'll finally be able to fill it. He sits alone, everypony already left the Soup kitchen, only stayed there for his performance.

He eats slowly, enjoying the warmth of the bitter red liquid sliding down his cold and tired windpipe.

Hjalti trots in, his hunger nearly unbearable. He looks around, String not quite catching his eye yet. He sighs, holding his stomach.

[String Chord]

String is the only one in the kitchen now, practically alone, he notices Hjalti, and waves toward him, half of his soups till left.

[Hjalti]

He smiles, waving back and trotting towards him; "What are you doing here alone...?"

[String Chord]

Smiles "Had a performance, So...w as hungry and wanted toe at something here.... do you want some?"

[Hjalti]

N-no, I'm fine-- *his stomach growls* I mean... yes... if that'd be alright...

[String Chord]

String chuckles, and pushes the plate toward the next seat, his only meal in the last three, and the next three days, he gifts to Stone, String smiles warmly "This is good, quite tasty."

[Hjalti]

Hjalti sits beside him; "Are you sure...?" He looks at the plate, his stomach growling again.

[String Chord]

String nods and pats his shoulder "You need food badly... I can spend a few more days without it" he smiles weakly at the stallion, hoping he will eat what he's been gifted.

[Hjalti]

He begins eating; "Mhh... thank you~" He reaches into his sadlebags, taking out a drinking horn with a leather cap. He takes off the cap, taking a swig of the golden, sweet smelling liquid contained inside. He passes the horn to String, still about three quarters full. He smiles; "Have this... it's the least I can do..."

[String Chord]

String takes just a small sip and passes it back to Hjalti "Hm, it's good... not too hard...." he smiles

He tries to pass it back; "No, no... you gave me your soup... you can have the rest~".

[String Chord]

String's ears flatten, he puts the bottle onto the table, and then looks down "I am not hungry"

[Hjalti]

He chuckles; "But surely you need to drink as well...". He smiles; "Besides... it's good stuff... we used to brew this back home..."

[String Chord]

String nods sadly "I know.... I liked it... just, not in the mood for it now..."

[Hjalti]

He moves the horn towards him a bit more, before continuing to eat; "Mhh... then keep it..." He finishes after a while, resting his hoof on his belly; "Just... give me the horn back when you're finished. It... means a lot to me...".

[String Chord]

String smiles weakly and puts the horn in teh big pocket of his cloak "Sure thing. I'll keep it like my own guitar."

[Hjalti]

He smiles warmly at String; "Thank you." He pats his belly; "Mmm~ that soup was good...~".

[String Chord]

"Sure was.... nice cooks they got here.... Anyway... what are you doing today...?"

[Hjalti]

He sighs; "I don't know... to tell the truth, I headed southwards seeking a chance to test myself in battle~. But I've no axe, no spear, no sword..."
He chuckles; "Besides, there's too many of the feathered bastards..."

[String Chord]

String looks at Hjalti, and smirks "I could get you a sword.... a really good one too..."

[Hjalti]

He smirks as well; "Oh...? I didn't think ponies in these parts were too good with steel... not like us northern folk..."

[String Chord]

String chuckles softly "I know that..." he pulls out a steel dagger, engraved with Old Slavic "I got this from my cousin who used to live in the Germaneigh province.... until his wife died.." he then looks down "Now that I've fallen in love i fear I might fall in a deeper depression than before..." he looks into Hjalty's eyes "Do you remember that mare that healed us...?"

[Hjalti]

He nods; "Mhh... she seemed nice..."

[String Chord]

"I've fallen in love with her..." he smiles weakly "I'ma fool to have thought that love would never get me..... To think I am too great for love" he looks down again, sighing "But now it claims victory over me.... Forcing my emotions to go towards the endless pits of darkness and death. I am of no good now..."

[Hjalti]

He smiles softly; "love, huh...? *he chuckles* it... kinda gives me hope to see that ponies can care for one another in times like this...". He chuckles weakly this time, his smile replaced by a grim, cold expression; "Me... I'll only ever have one love..."

[String Chord]

String looks towards Hjalti, obviously concerned "And that is...? If you don't mind me asking..."

[Hjalti]

He looks down; "The heat of battle... the call of my ancestors...". His ears flatten; "I can't stand seeing ponies suffer like this..." His expression begins to soften again.

[String Chord]

"But Hjalti, my friend. Times -will- change, we -will- rise and take control again. You believe me! I come from Stalliongrad, and when i say revolution is coming, that's probably true."

[Hjalti]

"Indeed... but change won't come unless we make it~" He pushes his empty bowl to the side; "Do you think we really have a chance...?" *his ears begin to perk up again* "Regardless... if you need another blade at your side, you could do a lot worse."

[String Chord]

"I could use another blade. Also, don't worry, it's not just the two of us" he points toward the exit. "This town is filled with poneis wanting change, now, if you'll excuse me.... I have to go" he stands up and trots over to take his guitar putting it on his back, he trots up to Hjalti again and pats his shoulder, exiting the kitchen shortly after.

Hjalti sighs, hating being alone for the first time. He chuckles to himself; "That's the first time anypony's called me friend...~"
