...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
Nov 12, Year 4
((After the events of the execution, there was little information being given as to new orders or plans of action. Now, after a week of silence, a select few griffons gather inside the briefing area of the headquarters. The orders came from Feliks himself, at least that is when the messengers said. It is shortly before the required time.))
A few guards stood outside the doors, only allowing those with the proper orders through. The stand weapons ready at attention.
Once through the doors, the room is rather spacious. A screen is on one end with a projector in the center of the room. A griffon technician stands by it, fiddling with some of the wires. There are places to sit in the front, with plenty of standing area in the back. Not much else is in the room. Two guards stand by another door in the front at attention.
It is during evening chow time, so these griffons ordered here are missing a meal. Better be worth it.

Ida almost bumps into the guards as she arrives at the meeting, but a slight cough by one of the griffons prevents it. She looks up from her book at the armed griffons, who are blocking the way. "Oh yeah, I bet you want to see the paper." she says and rummages around her bag. "It must be here somewhere....ah there it is" Ida says and holds up her order. The guard nods and let her pass. "Man, this whole meeting seems to be very important" she thinks as she enters the room. "It seems I'm the first one. Perfect!" Ida takes a seat in the front row and continues reading her book, until something will happen.

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
Jacov Chillfeathers approached the headqaurters. This is ridiculous, when Im not being pulled aside for questioning, and fudging facts, Im being summoned here and there. It's tiring! he thought slightly irritated. He had just been through several inspections too many, and was getting sick of it. He was trying to write a ficticious book, against his own will. It's as if griffons or ponies didn't understand how stressful that could be. He approached the few guards gaurding the entranceway. He tried to get through and pushed back. "Oh Right! Papers..." he pulled them out of a book (It's worth about as much to me as a book mark then a summons) and waved them in front of the gaurds. They checked them over and said "In." very gruffly. They seemed irritated as well. No need to be so polite thought the griffon, and examined the room. There was a projector up top, which he assumed would display some pictures of a sort.
He examines the room, and notices a griffoness in the front row. She seems familiar from somwhere, but he cant place his claw on it. So, he decides the only intelligble thing to do, is to sit next to her. He hated to be alone, and didn't like being in crowds with strangers. If he did recognize her, then good for him. If not, this will be just another boring meeting. As he sat next to her, he noticed she did look awfully familiar, though he still couldn't place where he had seen her before.

Ida didn't notice the griffon entering the room, but as he takes a seat besides her she looks up from her book. "Isn't that..." she thinks and looks onto the back of her book "He really is Javoc Chillfeathers." She shoves her head in the book, not sure if she should talk to him. "I bet he would be annoyed by another fan asking for an autograph."

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
Jacov watched as she hid herself in her book. Ah well, maybe she- but then noticed the book she was reading. It was one of his very own! The Resilient Northr detailing griffon culture. Any feelings of awkwardness melted away. He was just happy to find an intelligent griffon in this entire city. "How are you liking the book so far?" he asked in a quiet tone. He hadn't been admired by fans for a while, and probably didn't realize the effect this had on her.

Ida looks to the griffon, back to the book and then back to the griffon. "I really like it. Actually it's now my third time that I'm reading this book now." she says with a slightly excited voice. "Uhm..I hope you don't mind, if I ask you,but could you sign the book for me?"

Jacov smiles warmly at his fan. And three times! He himself hadn't read that book that particular book in a while. It was one of his earlier works. "Of course, I'd be delighted to." he said, and took the book. He took a pencil he had with him all the the time. "If I may ask, who are you? I know I've seen that lovely face before." he said slyly. She did look beautiful. However, he knew he'd seen her somewhere before.

Ida feels how her blood rushes to her cheeks causing her to blush. She just wants to hide behind the book now, but she replies "I'm Ida Fjölnir, but I doubt it that you know me. I barely get out of my laboratory." Actually Javoc could know her from her only released book "Medical Flora of the Griffon Kingdom", but it's a rather bald written book. Ida is a good scientist, but she's terrible as a writer.

Jacov looked to the stiffness. Of course! The book was extremely useful during the war along with herself. He had of course read her work. He had read better but no one wrote anything that saved as.many lives as herself. "I have read your book. It is an honor to meet you. I suppose you don't mind if I sit here then? I honestly have no clue as to why I'm even here..." He said a bit disappointed, hating not being informed.

"I would be honored, but actually I have also no clue what is going on. I suppose something because of this rebel thing." She puts the signed book into her back "And thank you again for the autograph." Ida sits now quiet on her seat not sure if she should make small talk or just wait for something to happen.

Aella stood off to the sidelines, staring rigidly ahead. She had been in Manehattan for several days and had spoken little to the other Griffons, save Feliks who had questioned her thogroughly following her purchase. The fresh wound of killing Allus made that... difficult at best.
Aella reached up and touched her collar, running a talon along the faintly glowing branded runes. She liked the way it looked, despite the implications of wearing it.

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
The Hunter was a newcomer still, to this city, to this country even. A series of whispers had perked his interest and talk of a 'important' gathering eaisly drawing the still curious Hunter forth from the shadows and into the light.
A messenger had come shortly after that, bringing a paper order. An order now in the hands of the gaurds by the rear entrance.
After getting his approval to enter, The Hunter moved to the most comforting place he could find; a place in the back with a nice view that was neither too close or too far from the exit. From here he turned his sharp gaze forward, and began to analyze what he could see; predatory instincts revealing much. Beneath the folds of his well worn cloak the griffons observations would be hidden from the untrained eye.
A minor assortment of guards, most stoic and some slightly irritated, covered most of the entrances. Another was at the front of the room, fiddling with some form of machine. Projector by the looks of things, no doubt for the upcoming meeting.
A few rows ahead two other griffons sat. Not being a scholar at heart, the Hunter had to ponder just who they were for a few sparse moments before an inkling of an idea gave him some clue as to their identity. Soon enough it came to him.
The Blue one, Javoc, was well known for his publishing on the houses. Ida, the Red, was more well known to him. Her book on flora obviously holding a bit more interest for the cloaked hunter. He'd known a healthy selection of the books contents, but a good deal had been learned as well. He still had notes written down from both groupings in a notebook actually.
The Hunters gaze moved from the two and began to scan the rest of the room. Well now, this was proving to be an interesting meeting already. Just what more could it hold?

Kira knew she was a bit late to this meeting that she had heard from... well she had her own sources to get her information, a benefit she had from her family even if she did not want to admit it. But now she was here again just waiting for the final summons from Feliks to hear what they where doing here, and more prescience what she could do to help her homelands troops.
Now the gryphoness was standing to the side of the gryphons that had started to group together and was talking between each other. She did not feel like talking to gryphons right now as she just wanted to get a long with this thing and get back to work.

Thorin wandered towards the breifing hall, eschewing his armour in favour of a normal uniform coat. He was far from happy about missing a meal, and some hard-earned relaxation time, but orders were orders. He was also slightly surprised that he was thinking more like a grumpy soldier than a doctor.
He was waved through the door by one of the bored looking guards and entered the room. Glancing around, he noticed Kira and stood beside her. He had once shared a pleasant drink with her and Sten, and hoped that he had not said anything too stupid while drunk out of his mind.

Kira had been watching between the different gryphon's in the hall mostly out of boredom as she wanted to get moving soon but she knew that if she wanted to hear what this was about she would have to wait and that was what she was doing now, waiting.
Her eyes wandered from gryphon to gryphon trying to figure out something about them as she watched. White, Grey, Brown, Blue. Kira's eyes passed over them one by one only raising a slight eyebrow as she looked to Blue it was quite the unusual colouration of a gryphon and might not be the best of them either, not that good camouflage. Her eye finally stopped at a dark figure in the shadow, she had almost not see him if it was not for the small grey colouration in the feathers and fur. There was something about this gryphon that intrigued her even if she had not spoken to or even seen him before in her life, but there was just something about him that did draw her attention to him.
Kire jumped a little as she heard the greeting next to her, she was not prepared for the sudden voice. She looked to her side and noticed that gryphon next to her, her mined raced to try to figure out who his was and how he knew her name.
"Oh hey... eh Thorin was it right?" She finally said as she think she remembered the gryphon she had shared a drink with not that long ago with.

Over in the shadows the Griffon that Kira had been watching had just turned his attention to her and her companion. Those signature cool, collected, predatory eyes scanned her form. She was one of the more natural colored of his kind he'd seen as of late. He noticed the gleam in her eye, that familiar curious twinkle, but as always he said nothing.
Next his gaze flicked over to the other griffon, the one beside Kira. The Hunter had not seen this one before. He looked young, and his colors reminded the Hunter of his homelands. How long had it been now, since he'd last felt the familiar chill and seen the grey of his homelands? The Hunter pushed the thought away; something to entertain later, when he was once again alone.

Thorin chuckled.
'Yes indeed. I hope that I did not drink too much of your excellent Qui' He paused for a moment, then said 'I.. hope that I did not say anything out of line. Alcohol... tends to bring up bad memories'
He shook his head, as if to dislodge the unpleasant memories of the last few weeks, then looked to Kira again.
'I apologise if this seems... well... anyway, I thought that you were only in Manehattoan for a few days. But here you are in a breifing for some big action that will likely take weeks to complete'

That sat for a few minutes in silence, as the room slowly filled up. "Seems like we have quite the group joining us..." he said to Ida, noticing several griffons coming in. Some looked shady, while others were already conversing. Already a small buzz of conversation had started.
"Nothing like the debates we had back in the Aeyri council...it was always straight to the point arguing." he said with a small chuckle. "However, I think I prefer the din of polite conversation then the baseless accusations and debates that sprang up on the council." he said, remembering the days he was a consoltant. It was a rough gig at times, but he liked it well enough. Till the Tsar sent him on this awful mission.

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
Kroll was bristling with excitement. He had not been allowed to set paw near Headquarters for the past few years, and now finally, he had recieved a personal invitation to come back! Dressed in his old military uniform, he stood in front of the two guards, barely able to retain the stern expression that he normally wore.
For a moment, Kroll was worried that the letter could've been fake, and instead was some way Felkis planned to kill him in light of the failed attempt to capture Zweihander a few days prior. But all of that paranoia was dashed away when the guards stepped aside, permitting Kroll access. With a whoop of joy, Kroll hugged one of the guards before bounding off. They were finally taking him back!
Kroll stopped before walking into the meeting room, pressing himself up against the wall next to the doorframe. He took a deep breath, getting back into his stern mindset. He'd gotten this far, no need to ruin his chances now. With a sharp turn, he stepped into the room and took another deep breath, looking around. There was quite a...colorful bunch of griffons already present, but that was Felkis' call, not his.
Shaking his head, he noticed a white griffoness standing off to the side. Something about her was...familiar, but Kroll couldn't quite place a talon on where he'd seen her before. All the same, he walked over and stood by her. Everyone else seemed to be locked in a conversation, why not follow suit?
Taking out his pack of licorice, he held it out towards the griffoness. "Want a piece?"

Aella was disturbed from her collar-based musings by a bag of liqorice and someone asking if she wanted some. She looked to her right and saw a grey Tercel in uniform.
'I... thank you master' She said, taking a peice of the sweet black treat from the bag.
She savoured the taste of it, and wondered what the price was for that small but very rare comfort.

Kroll was in the process of helping himself to a piece of licorice himself when the griffoness expressed her thanks. He nearly choked on his piece as the word "master" left her beak.
After a quick cough and a quick shake of the head, Kroll peered at the griffoness next to him, as if he was trying to read fine print on a document. "Did...you just call me...master?"

'It is the term that I have been told to use when referring to any griffon of higher status than myself' Aella said.
'I hope that I have not... displeased you master. Is there another term that you would prefer?'
She certainly hoped that she had not upset him. The glowing runes upon her collar were not just for show, and were capable of inflicting absolute agony upon the wearer should the control charm be used. This griffon likely did not have such a charm, but better safe than rolling around on the ground screaming that you are sorry.

Ida looks around the room. "I'm wondering how many griffons got the order to appear here." Then she turns back to Javoc "I don't think this will be like a discussion in the council. Most of the meetings I had with the military were about getting orders." She sighs "I miss the scientific discussions with my mum. Sometimes our discussions got out of claw and we didn't speak for days to each other" Ida says with a slight chuckle.

Jacov chuckled with her. "I think every Aeyrie has a little fight in them. Be it debate wise or races for the best technology. I suppose that comes with being the most intelligent of the griffons. At least, race wise, if we talked ratios of smart griffons compared to the other houses." He said seemingly objective and somewhat subjective at the same time.

Kira looked to Thorinand just titled her head some as she listed to him, he seemed to really worry about making a fool of him self in front of her this told her some thing about him. He was interested in her. This could be a problem but she was as of now not really sure about her own thought about this.
"No, no you did fine got a bit liberal with you speech at times." She said a bit lazy as she was still casting glazes over at the strange gryphon the shadow, but soon her attention was at Thorin.
"And yes I stayed a bit longer not got any word about new work until this that is."

Kroll's eyes widened slightly. Eversor. Now there was a name that he was familiar with. He bowed slightly to the griffoness before him. "Well. If you are anything like your mother, you have my utmost respect, ma'am." He smiled. "So, what brings you to...." Kroll's voice trailed off as his eyes locked onto the collar around Aella's neck, recognizing what it was. He shifted slightly, clearing his throat again. "Ah. I see..."
Kroll looked around at the various griffons in the room. None of them really looked like the type to own or have a need for a slave, so he couldn't help but ask. "So..which one...?"

Kroll tightened slightly at the mentioning of Felkis' name. "Ah...I see...right after your first fight? How did that go? I'd hazard a guess that you won, seeing as you're standing here before me!" He smiled weakly at his failed attempt at humor.

In the shadows the Hunter turned his gaze upon another. This one much more familiar. A few days prior to this meeting, the griffon had named him Grey. He had a older uniform on, and seemed a bit cleaner than before. An officer perhaps? Or simply a mask to be worn in public?
The griffoness next to Grey was even more interesting, more specifically her collar. The Hunter had seen such collars before in his travels. Their purpose known to him. A slave? How foul. The Hunter had never believed in slavery, the idea that a predator, or even prey, would be bound and forced to serve against their will was wrong. It was something that ignored the Balance, shunned and insulted it even.
The Hunter continued to just stare however, stare and smile with his eerily serene way. He would do nothing here or now. He had no reason to act now. Later, perhaps. When he had more information about this city and its inhabitants, about this meeting, and about the slave herself.

'Yes, I won sir... unfortunately' Aella said, recalling her one sided battle with Allus.
'I apologise sir, I should not perform any action that causes undue distress to my masters'
She took a quick look around the room, noting other conversing griffons and one, barely visible in the shadows at one end of the room. She locked eyes with this griffon for a moment, then looked back to Kroll.

Kroll shakes his head. "You don't need to worry about causing distress. There's enough of that to go around already! But really, eh? Fighting the other officers? I'd feel sorry for them if that's the case!"

Aella bowed slightly to the much larger tercel.
'I thank you for the compliment sir'
The comment on her potential lethality was likely well deserved. If she got free of her collar and gained sufficient will to escape, she could slaughter her way out of the headquaters without breaking a sweat. Her line had been bred for battle.

Kroll smiled. Taking out another piece of licorice and putting it his mouth, he started looking around the room. He noticed a griffon in the shadows that seemed to be staring directly at him. Odd, but not enough to deserve attention. He looked back over at Aella. "So...what do you think of Felkis so far?"

'He is... different to my previous owner. Perhaps it is because he only purchased me recently, but he has been sparing with punishments for failures or laxness. He has also not ordered me to kill yet, but that is likely to change soon'
'Unlike my previous owner, he has also been... rewarding faithful officers with my presence for an evening'
Aella shudders at the last comment.

Kroll raises brow, but is otherwise expressionless. "I see...so I take it that your time with him is...a mixed blessing, to say the least?"

Aella nods slowly.
'Yes... that sounds about right sir'
Aella took a moment to inspect Kroll more closely. From the thickness of his coat and his size, he guessed that he was not from Aquila. This, she decided, was probably the reason that he chose to talk to her instead of ordering.
'If I might ask sir... where do you come from?' She said, eager to divert conversation awway from anything that could offend her owner.

Kroll smiled. He was just about to ask her the same question. "Ah, I'm from the Southern Region, along the Hephaestian Range. What about you?"

'I was born, raised and trained on the coast of Aquilus, just south of the capitol' She smiles a little
'It was much hotter there. I am glad for the clouds here. I always loved the sound of rain...' She trails off, smiling openly now.
'Perhaps I should think of a song about it'

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
"Commander on Deck!" On of the guards yelled out before clicking his hind legs together and standing straight up to attention. The other guards in the room quickly followed suit.
In he walked, calm, a serene smile on his face, the same expression he always wore when out of the main administrative offices. Commander Feliks, boasting his audacious armor as usual, more for show than practicality. He entered from a door in the front, his entourage filling in behind him. First was another griffon, a white one in an officers uniform. He stayed just behind Feliks. Then came his guards, the four Valkyrie, of course wearing their beautifully ornate and deadly armor, their weapons in hand. Their helmets moved to scan the room. Once satisfied, they took a post on the side of the screen, two on each, standing at a relaxed attention, their helmets continuously scanning for threats. Behind them a few secretaries and yeoman entered and took seats at the few desks there were, quill and parchment ready.
Commander Feliks walked to the griffon fumbling with the projector. After a few moments of whispering, he nodded and returned to the front of the room. He sighed as he looked over the flock before him. This was good...
"Good evening fellow griffons. As you already know, I'm Commander Feliks and this," he turned with an arm outstretched to his advisor, "is Colonel Snowtalon." He turned back to the griffons before him. "Please, come sit. Make yourselves comfortable." He paused to see if anyone would move. That stupid serene smile on his face, the kind that makes one wonder what he had planned behind the politeness of his voice.

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
Already seated the Hunter simply turned his attention towards the commander on the stage. So here he was, the famous, or infamous depending on who's side you followed, Commander Feliks. One would think, being a griffon as he was, the Hunter would feel a need to respect and bow to this Commander before him.
The Hunter felt nothing of the sort.
If anything the word to describe what the hunter felt at the moment was Curiosity. So many guards, so much flash, and for what? A leader did need guards for sure, but so many in one place? The Commander seemed paranoid about his own safety. How curious.
And this newcomer, Snowtalon. Just what was he doing here? More questions arose as the Hunter followed his usual behavior and began mapping out various things about those around him. Attack angles, possible weak points, escape paths. The usual.
And through it all the Hunter smiled, serene and calm, cool and distant. Similar, yet alien to the Griffon on the stage.

Ida quickly stands up as Feliks enters the room. She is already used to stand at attention when a higher ranked griffon enters the room. After Feliks gave the order she takes a seat again and whispers to Javoc "Now we will see what everything here is about."

Jacov stood when told and sat down when he was told. He had heard of the commander who controlled the city. He had heard we was highly intelligent, if not ambitious. He also hated ponies with a passion, if some rumors were to be believed. He heard Ida's speech and said "That's a devious plan smile if I ever saw one." He whispered. "And all this security? I have a bad feeling about this..." He whispered again. He really hoped this wasn't some sort of strange killing off ceremony...The room was packed, and it'd be highly unlikely any of them would survive.

Re: ...of Ponies and Griffons (Dated)
"Well, I have other things to get to, and soon you will too hehehe," He laughed a little, obviously funny for him and no one else, "So I will just begin.
As I am sure you all know, there is...unrest among the native population. This may or may not be rightly justified, but that is not the point. The point is that it has stopped being a nuisance and has become dangerous. As you no doubt have heard about the failure with the executions last week. Well, this is simply unacceptable..."
He was far from finished.
"But, taking further...extreme measures might not be the best approach. After all "Tit for Tat" right?" Rhetorical question. "So, recently brought to light for me, was that maybe I caused this. Maybe I haven't been the...most benevolent of leaders for the native population. So that is where you all come in.
Sadly the projector isn't working, but that is alright, I am sure my purpose will still come across. All of you have special skills that I find necessary for a new plan of action. The Guerrillas, I admit, might not have been the best plan, however they are still useful and are here to stay. So there are other actions that will need to be taken."
He walks up to Ida, still smiling, but this time it is soft and looks sincere. "Ms. Fjölnir, isn't it? Your scientific mind saved many griffons in the war. Pleasure to have you in my city." He bowed his head in respect, "I would hope you find it to your liking."

Ida is highly surprised by Feliks. She didn't thought he would know her, even her work is rather popular. She answers his bow with a nod "Everything is fine and it's an honor to be under your command, Sir!"

"Smart and respectful, you will do great things Ms. Fjölnir, and it will start here." He straightens out, "How would you like to lead the research team that will be documenting and studying the Everfree forest?" He paused for a moment to let that sink in. "This team will gather and study the various plants and such that will then be studied in hopes of finding more things that will further the Kingdoms. You will have all the funding you can ask for, and a team of the most highly skilled scientists in the city. How does that sound?" He smiled bigger as he looked down at her. He seemed to be almost prideful in his offer, like a rich man giving to those less fortunate.

Ida blinks several times before she realizes what Feliks just said. The Everfree forest and a unlimited funding? If Ida hasn't such a control over herself she would just jump up and hug Feliks, but instead she stands up and salutes "T-thank you,Sir! I-I don't know what to say."
