- SPELLS:
------What makes Scintillance so OP (plz nerf) is the fact that he's a walking talking flashbang lightbulb weapon master who can make weapons out of light. what makes him NOT so OP is that fact thathe's only had 4 years of learning this fancy shmancy magic, and that he's not actually a weapon master of any kind, save for his mastery over telekinesis. bear with me folks, this is a bit of a wild ride down Scintillances' Psyche.- PENDULUM POLE:
The Martyr is Lances' first ever conjured construct. he made this, baddabing, baddaboom, his flank got a cutiemark. pretty neat, but, he kinda passed out. I mean, this crap's SUPER HEAVY on the average unicorn's mind. practicing Luminous Conjuration had forced scintillance to expand his magical stamina (OH MY GOD. now I know what mana abbreviates for.)
The Martyr was the result of Lance getting mad at himself for being a useless little twat; it's only fitting that the result of his training accidentally gave him a weapon of mass head-removal. Warning: let this baby spin, and your lawn mower's the least of your worries.
- TOWER SHIELD:
OH GOD YES. every good Paladin needs a shield. Lance? 'course he needs a shield. it's not indestructible, but it can still deflect a couple of good blows and lodge a few arrows and bolts before it shatters. it can also be levitated from a distance, so Lance can 'throw' it Cap'n-'Murika style and bounce it off a couple faces. or he could use it to protect his allies from a distance. Is Scint, like, the bestest friend on a battlefield or what?
The Aegis was born of Lances' selfishness; he felt like he needed protection, and he got it alright. but it didn't take him long to turn the shield into a conjuration that not only protects himself, but protects those others who need it, turning the selfish construct into a selfless spell.
- GLIDER:
When your best friends are assassin ninja dudes you kinda find yourself at a loss. I mean, look at scint, does he really look like the kinda guy who leaps from rooftop to rooftop doing backflips and stuff? well actually he does, but he kinda can't. I wish he could, but can't. y'know, the whole OP-gotta-nerf-some-how thing. how did we fix that? made him more OP and gave him a conjurable flying carpet. he can carry another pony with him on it too. ("GRAB MY HOOF...ADVENTUUUUUUURE!")
- SPELL CLOAK:
less of a heartwarming story about emotion and more of an actual spell Scint conjured up (HAH see what I did there?) when Scint realized just how much in danger he could be if he continuued to expose himself as a lightbulb-rebel, he developed a spell for the sole purpose of disguise; essentially it covers his entire body with an energy of the same color of his magical aura. however, his aura was the very kind that makes people blind; a bright yellow that litterally turns scintillance into a walking lightbulb, and everybody knows why it's a bad idea to stare at a lightbulb for more than two seconds. Scint would normally still hide under a hood of sorts in order to further conceal his identity; he might become a lot harder to look at, and his entire fur and mane scheme might change, but his mane, tail and the rest of his features don't actually alter.
------others: what, you think that's it? pfffft. Lance doesn't necessarily JUST make weapons, I just made this list so RP-ers have a referance to Lances' usual weapons, he can make tools and other things as well, I just don't wanna make a fanciful tribal design for every food utensil in existance. also, Lances' conjurations are are based off of his ability to find creative solutions. that, and his mood. I have a TON more conjurations waiting for him to find the reason to create them, so expect this list to get bigger in due time. until then, look at the above and feel sorry for not making awesome characters. FEEL SORRY! naaaaaaah I'm just joshing with y'all. I don't want anybody to feel sorry. in fact, Lance DOES have his downsides.
take the fact that in this RP, if you're caught causing trouble, or with a weapon (his magic IS a weapon), you're either dead on the spot or going to prison camp. Now, just how easy is it for a living one-pony RAVE-PARTY lightshow to stay out of trouble? not very, so he's kinda forced to not be his usual obnoxious foolhardy self.
and then there's the fact that this stuff drains stamina like whoah. Lance might be the closest thing to an expert on this kinda magic, but even he can run out of mana eventually. he can last a good while, but not quite that long. also, normally, no more than one conjuration at a time. if he does that, well, he's magically-muted for a short bit, and physically woozy. this ain't no kid-stuff; one conjuration was bad enough
- BIO:
Heya! My name is Scintillance DiCanterlot Charmer, pleasure's all mine! putting it bluntly, I''ve been called immature before. lots of times. a very very large amount of lots of times. and uh, some have called me ignorant... and other... stuff... um... well I guess I've gotten used to it at this point (well not really) but let's try to look past that, right?
now don't get me wrong, despite the above negative comments I'm fully dedicated to helping others; "Another's needs before my own, my bod the shield before them." personal motto; I'd spend my days with a guilty consience if somepony suffered where I could have, and worse if I could have stepped in. On that note, I'm always going to step in.
what else... oh yeah! I think I'm Equestria's closest thing to an expert on "Luminous Conjuration." why would I say that? well I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm the awesomest at what I do. that and I'm pretty sure I made it up. it's my special talent; I make stuff up outta light (after turning it solid), be it the mighty Martyr to mow down my foes (and the lawn. the thing works wonders in whirling death scint mode) or a teacup from which to fill with water. (I totally wish I could conjure water. why can't water be made of light. why.) but I can't go too far. generally, this kinda magic takes the 'oomph' outta the aveage unicorn in seconds, it took me a good while to push my stamina for it. and even then, last time I conjured a scooter I woke up with my tail stuck in a tree. two days later. I think I passed out and... something else happened.
- HISTORY:
My father was a royal guard, and my mother had been among the few ponies to agree to work at the palace during Luna’s nocturnal shift of the work-days. Though my father had wanted me to be a guard like him, Celestia found me first, and had accepted me into her School of magic, however I have not been granted the honour as her personal student, like that famous “element of magic” everypony’s been talking about… Sparkle, was it?
But that was… so long ago… Both my parents were murdered in the royal palace when the Griffins struck… I didn't even know… I was just at home, asleep, while they both did their night shifts, and neither of them came back… I was 100% spoiled, and when my parents weren't there at sunrise to greet me, I just didn't know what to do… I was lost within the walls of my own home… pathetic. There were orphans out there that suffered much worse trials than I did, forced to steal and scavenge whatever they could get their hands on, and I spent seven years living off the luxury my parents left for me, truly believing that my world has come to an end.
At least that only lasted seven years. Humph. “Only.” I eventually realized that I needed to take my life into my own hooves. I realized that I've still been relying on my parents seven years after their deaths. I realized that I needed to wake up: there is a war and Equestria was in danger. My parents money continued to last for the past four years, but instead of lying around in my home, wasting the days away, I began to explore what became of my Canterlot home… oh, how I've missed so much… there was a war out there… and I barely knew it.
I spent my days training in my father’s old gym… numerous equipment was there for me to try out, but there was one that caught my eye… believe it or not, I enjoyed making use of what I thought was a pole arm… but really, it was just a northern zebrican fan, with its feathers plucked out. I didn't care, its ends were sharp enough to leave real damage, and the way they “hooked” allowed me to grapple objects from a distance.
The day I discovered my cutie mark… my word, I took my sweet time, didn't I? It started with me messing around with said “zebrican fan…” imagine my surprise when I realized it was not in fact the one from my fathers gym, but an imaginary one… no… I created it, it’s entire design imprinted into my mind… I could telekinetically recreate the object, and bend the light around it to make it appear like one. I continued to experiment with this new found skill of mine, and before I knew it, a flash of light appeared on both sides of my flank, but I never noticed… no… I was fully focused on every conjuration I created—to the point that my body would tip over, the point I wasn't breathing, the point I wasn't thinking… I suddenly found myself waking up from the floor of the gym… I didn't recall sleeping. I realized then, that this magic was incredibly mentally challenging, as it would require all of my attention, all of my focus to bring the mechanism and form of my constructs to life… all of it…
But I've improved, since then. My skill in magic was left to slumber for years after the war began, and I've only started to reawaken it four years ago. I've only discovered my talent two years ago. And I believe I’m more than capable enough, by now, to trot back into equestrian society. Maybe I can do something about the griffins. Maybe I can at least find the ones that killed my parents. Doubtful. But at least I can do something about those griffins.
... The rumors all say the same; a rebellion is forming in Manehattan. I suppose there's no better place to start my new life than there.

Re: Scintillance [Unicorn]
Well the concept was that Scintillance loves the mechanism of such things, but I suppose I can... (insert mental pain here) remove the complications of my favourite weapon... as for conjuring weapons out of thin air, no pony said Lance trots around a militaristic town with brilliant glowing weaponry for griffins to see; so long as he has anything conjured out, he's in a mental tug of war between holding onto the existence of the constructs, and making sure he remembers to breathe. (well, with more unfamiliar patterns, that is.) Can I at least keep the Pendulum pole, though? I can drop the complications to a… sword and symbolic shield (personal designs, mind you) but I’m hoping I can hold on to my other favorite weapon, at least…
the sword is a back up plan; if the pendulum pole is too much, I should at least know if I'm still over complicating the sword... It's the result of a thinking mind (following the basic purpose of Lance's cutie mark; Scintillance gives physical form to his imagination, but he would easily lose himself within his own mind, if he ventures to far)I'll upload the shield for review once I make a digital version of the drawn one
And… other than the actual weaponry he uses… should I remove his conjuration ability entirely, if it sounds OP? The idea is that he offers assistance in the form of temporary structures, though it leaves him comparable to a vegetable for as long as he keeps them out… (bridges, ladders, ropes, etc.)
Please, do tell me what parts of Scintillance are "over the top," so that I know what specifically needs to be changed... if crossbows are too complex to conjure from light, then what wouldn't be? (or at least cross out what you think is going too far: the sword I've posted, the shield, Pendelum Pole, ladders, bridge [i suppose I can drop it down to small, levetateable platforms] ropes... I'd need to know my limits)
EDIT: here's the shield. sorry for the sloppy work, I've only a few minutes before I can't use this temporary internet
