Re: A Moment of Peace [NOT CANNON][Closed]

Leo took the blunt end of the spear to the chest with a dull thud. It stung him, but once again his body endured and the act was truly a testament to his strength as his powerful form absorbed the blow. He watched as she reached the cloud layer before righting herself again and swept his gaze down upon her, contemplating his next move. A moment passed before he beat his wings and took off higher into the sky, higher and higher he climbed until he reached the apex, closing his wings as he began to free fall. He stayed in free fall for merely seconds before his massive wings opened in an arch and he fell into a sharp dive towards her. The air roared passed his dynamic stance as he picked up velocity, what he was about to do was incredibly dangerous, especially when she had a spear. But he had a plan for that. As he closed in towards her he scooped his wings out like an eagle about to snatch prey as he kicked his hind paws down at her with terrifying momentum and force, one for the bar of the spear and the other for her center of mass.

Freyia smiled as the he began his dive to her. She began to twirl the spear very deliberately, slowly moving it around the grooves in her armor. Once he opened his wings, she whipped it around and shot it straight at him using all the momentum gained. The spear streaked up as it aim to meet the dive bombing creature. It was slowing down due to gravity, but the tip remained pointed at the hippogriff, and his momentum would be all she would need.

Without watching she let herself fall into the cloud sea, disappearing in a swirl of white.

[Leo]

Leo didn't slow down as his hind leg smacked the side of the spear viciously as intended, spinning it around as he spun his body a second after, pulling the spear around in his paws and continuing his diving momentum as he broke the cloud layer, the spear now in his paws as he pointed it down at her. He hadn't felt this alive in a long time, the flow of air, the adrenaline coursing through his body as he plummeted towards his opponent. He picked up the rest of the velocity and with one powerful throw he launched the spear back, followed by a grunt as he threw it towards her with tremendous force. He followed the spear, if it missed, he wouldn't.

[Freyia]

Freyia had started her own dive. The spear chased her, slowly getting closer as it pierced through the sea of white. She twitched her wings so as to move next to the spear as it reached her. Grabbing it with all four legs, she held on as she went straight for the ground.

She looked to see if the hippogriff would follow her.

[Leo]

Leo watched as she caught the spear before he focused more on his dive, picking up speed. As she turned to sight him he rolled away to the side, deciding attacking directly from a dive for the second time would be a foolish move.

[Freyia]

Freyia expanded her wings to halt her dive as she came out of the cloud line. She move around in a large arc and began to circle back to him.

Holding the spear against her body and her forelegs she looked to see where he would be.

Her plan was to circle around for another strike.

[Leo]

Leo kept a steady glide, hidden just inside of the cloud layer as he watched her through the occasional broken cloud. He would pick his moment, take her by surprise and finish this. He flexed his feathers as he shadowed her for a minute, watching before suddenly bursting through the layer and striking down at her with a paw aimed between her shoulders. He wouldn't deliver enough force to break her, but he knew he could definitely deliver enough to stop her flying temporarily and ground her for the rest of the fight.

[Freyia]

She didn't see him come through the clouds. Immediately she knew he was stalking her. She waited, ready for the slightest movement of anything through the could layer. As soon as he burst through on top of her she spun around and thrust her spear at him.

The spear winked at the paw as the two strikes passed one another, aimed at the same general area as the paw strike.

She could feel the massive paw strike her shoulder with the strength of ten griffons. She wanted to let out a painful cry, but withheld it, instead wincing at the pain. She knew she would no longer be able to fly, not effectively anyway.

[Leo]

He felt his paw land and felt her wings buckle from the impact. He managed to block the spears attack as it lunged for his shoulder, however it slid across the paw cuff, slicing up a part of his side instead. He pushed the pain aside as the air instantly attacked it, a small trail of blood sliding down his side that he chose to ignore as he focused on the last part of the move. He closed in on her and wrapped his arms around her once again trying to lock her in place. This time however, he decided not to keep them flying as he closed his wings to push them into a free fall. He would do this for two reasons, one to disorientate her and two to get them to the ground. If he could get her pinned on the ground, the fight would be over.

[Freyia]

She felt his strength and power as he wrapped himself around her.

She let him.

By allowing an easy grasp of her body, she made sure to keep her wings out of it. She was not weak. In fact, she was very strong, and her wing muscles were the strongest muscle she had. She wrapped her legs around his arms to try and lock them in position on her.

She began pushing back. Her wings cut the air at an angle, his own speed and weight now working completely against him as she moved to turn the tables around. Meanwhile, she managed to move the spear to interrupt one of his wings so that he could not counter her wings.

She was going to flip this around, and he would be the one landing on the ground. She used all her strength, and combined with the wind against her wings pushing them into this spin, the force was immense.

[Leo]

Leo felt himself lock in as they fell towards the ground bellow. And when he felt one of his wings stopped by her spear, he knew exactly how this was going to end if he didn't find something to counter with. He was now a lead weight, stuck and falling towards the ground with frightening force. All the while his eyes locked on hers, the sunset orange of his own matching the gold of hers, his face expressionless, save the smallest tinge of amusement at the persistence and endurance of the mare. He looked away from her and over his shoulder as the wind howled passed them, he sighted the ground drawing ever closer before he looked back, his tail flung back and wrapped itself around the base joint of one of her wings, snaring it and stopping it as it coiled and pulled taught. "Brace yourself" his deep smooth voice rumbled as he pulled hard on the wing, shifting their weight at the last moment. Now they would both be hitting the floor, side by side in a locked embrace, two warriors testing the others arm, and honor.

[Freyia]

Beautiful, if painf- Her thought was rudely interrupted by the grounds hello. She blacked out. Landing on ones side is a terrible thing to do...EVER.

It was only for a few moments, she turned and coughed into the cold ground. Pain, everywhere pain. She slowly opened her eyes. Once the blurriness cleared enough to see anything she say her spear, half of it sticking out of the ground. It had stuck 3'3" into the cold ground. That isn't good for that. Was the only thought she had. She slowly picked herself up. A pain shot through one of her shoulders, she was unable to put any wait on that leg. She held it up and shook her head.

It was then that reality made itself known again. The Fight!. She quickly turned and bowed her head to the hippogriff, her leg held close to her chest. She took the same stance as before, only this time minus a spear.

[Leo]

Leo hit the ground harshly, his weight and strength making the ground actually shake as he hit the floor. He grunted in pain as his body began to feel all kinds of sore. The world spun for a moment and the ground seemed to tilt as his vision blurred. He felt sick but refused to allow anything to rise from his stomachs depths as he rose to his paws. His side was heavily bruised and cut and his tail was broken half way up. But nothing serious seemed to be wrong, as far as he could tell. He steadied his vision as he refocused his breathing, pushing out his chest to check his ribs as he looked around for the Pegasus.

She seemed to be back in stance, although hurt as her weight shift told him she couldn't lean on one of her hooves. He looked on her for a minute before raising a paw, "Lay down your spear, warrior" he said, an approving smile crossing his expression, "You've proven your arm and your honor to me, we need not continue... lest we fight to the death" he said raising an eyebrow at that. He knew that if he didn't call it now, they would be fighting until one of them could fight no longer, or death take them.
