Report of Hijinks
One word can sum up Hijinks in a whole: unpredictable. Some ponies love her for her bubbly and carefree attitude in a desolate setting, some others find her creepy for the same reason. A few ponies find her annoying because of her tendency to play pranks on other ponies even in the most inappropriate of times. But for ponies who look further into Hijinks like myself, they see either a troubled filly, a dangerous psychopath, or in my case, both.
From Hijinks' time in the orphanage, I could tell that she had trouble socializing with the other foals. Her lack of empathy made it difficult for her to foresee how inappropriate some of her words were, leading to most of the foals staying away from her. Regardless, she would isolate herself from the other foals anyway, as unlikely as that sounds, and speak to herself. Usually, I would note that as a sign of depression and grief, but most ponies wouldn't be smiling or chuckling to themselves while they do it.
I suspect that she hid all of her grief and anger behind that smile of hers, although it's hard to tell since she never cracked under my watch. She once told me that it was illogical to be sad because it doesn't get you anything but sympathy and sympathy gets you nothing; I just wish I could have convinced her it was okay to cry. From what I know of her history, she has a lot to cry about.
Another interesting point to note about Hijinks' behavior is her stance towards morality. What she believes is wrong or right is... confusing to say the least. Although, she has once stated to me in an... argument... that no pony or griffon can be painted as a good guy or a bad guy. Either she meant that both sides are susceptible to doing the opposite, or any action they perform creates both 'good' and 'bad' things in the future. The latter is a troubling thought as that would mean she would hold no regret for what she does.
Despite her obvious lack of empathy towards other ponies, I am quite relieved to know that she currently thinks negatively of death and does not wish it upon even griffons (Unlike a few rowdy foals in the orphanage). The only reason I could ascertain as to why she doesn't wish death upon another being was "Dead things are boring... and smelly." The latter part of that comment brings me to think that she isn't really bothered by death like most ponies would be, just uninterested in it. Now that I think about it, she never really seemed to be bothered by anything. She didn't find cockroaches 'icky' like the other fillies and she wouldn't even realize if she received a cut or two.
Besides that, it's important to look at one last subject before closing this 'report', Hijinks intelligence. She is smart, brilliantly so. But she is still a filly. I don't think she understands that she still has so much to learn. She likes learning new things but she holds an earth pony stubbornness when it comes to things that she believe to be set in stone, such as what I discussed about with her view on morality.
However, there is still the question as to what her goals are. I believe she is still searching or it's possible that she believes what she is doing right now will bring her happiness. I don't think even she knows why she does things sometimes and instead chalks it down to 'fun'.
As a final note, I will mention that I believe Hijinks still holds a small bit of bitterness towards me because I amputated what was left of her right wing after I found her.
- History:
Hijinks was born in Fillydelphia during the war. Her mother, Indigo, was a unicorn and an esteemed inventor before the war, focused her talent on adapting ground appliances and devices to work in the sky cities. Hijink's father was a pegasus guard, ironically named Harmless. At an early age, Hijinks was found to have a lot of stored pegasus magic, and she managed to figure out how to fly while only 3 years old.
Hijink's childhood was a lonely one however, as her father was out fighting in the war and her mother was too busy working. The only attention she seemed to get from her mother was when she being home schooled. Indigo was one of the few survivors during the Trottingham bombing, and feared constantly that the same thing might happen in Filyydelphia, which is why she insisted on having Hijinks home schooled. Hijinks would desperately try to catch the attention of her mother by playing pranks on her and causing a mess. But with each attempt, her mother would just turn her away. With no friends, Hijinks made some imaginary friends instead, often giving a voice to inanimate objects such as hats or books.
When she was 6 years of age, Hijinks was allowed to go outside and play with the other foals. But no matter how hard she tried she could not find a place to fit in. The other foals called her weird and refused to let her play with them. Her pranks and tricks, while funny to some, caused the parents to restrict her from playing with their foals, afraid that she would be a bad influence on their child. So even during this time, Hijinks was alone with her imaginary friends.
When she was old enough, her mother decided to teach her how to create things. Much to her mother's despair, Hijinks decided to pick up demolition. Despite her initial fears, Indigo decided to teach Hijinks the basics of explosives, and she became quite proficient at it.
However, as the war continued, Hijink's mother received word that her husband was killed in one of the skirmishes. Following this, her mother became depressed and refused to leave the house. Hijinks tried to cheer her up with pranks, parties and games but she never smiled nor laughed once.
When the battle of Fillydelphia began, Hijinks and her mother went into hiding, hoping no griffon would find them. With their new occupiers, hijinks was a lot more restricted, but she managed to make a game out of it, playing pranks on the guards and escaping without being noticed. One day however, the griffons decided to pay them a 'visit'. Both were dragged to a private location and beaten senselessly.
Hijinks couldn't help but cry.
The griffons, now laughing at the misery of Hijinks and her mother, decided to further torture them by mangling the flank of the filly, so she could never find her true talent. They also thought it would be nice to have a couple of spare Pegasus wings around.
Hijinks wailed in pair and despair
Indigo begged them stop, pleading for mercy. The griffons laughed, their grins filled with malice. Hijinks watched as the griffons pulled out a blade, and slit her mothers throat.
Hijinks was silent.
The griffons laughed loudly and joked about her death, discussing which parts they should eat first. While they were distracted, Hijinks managed to escape. The griffons dismayed that they let their prey get away, followed her back to her house. As they opened the door, they expected a weak and crying filly. What they ran into instead was a crudely made puppet of Hijinks stuffed with explosives.
Two loud shrieks echoed their way through the usually quiet streets of Filyydelphia that night.
Hijinks laughed maliciously as she heard the deafening explosion that followed it.
The rest of the guard, attracted by the sound, arrived on the scene to find a large crater where the house used to be. Nopony knew what exactly happened that night, or who the culprit was, the owner of the house was found dead in an alleyway with a smile on her face.
Hijinks has recently been spotted in Manehatten, ready to spread her unique form of chaos.
Special Skills/Abilities/Spells Descriptions:
- Zappy:
Zappy is a joybuzzer that gives anything that touches the 'sweet spot' an electrical shock. It is powered by Pegasus magic and therefore can only be used by Pegasi. The more magic the user has, the stronger the shock. Using the device will cause exhaustion if used too much as it drains Pegasus magic, resting for a bit will remedy this. Thanks to Hijinks' naturally high amount of Pegasus magic, it can be quite powerful and she can use it for longer without becoming tired.
Zappy is Hijinks' best friend, and she always keeps 'him' with her. Other than being a great prank device, Zappy can be used for starting fires and as a small light source (but it can quickly cause exhaustion).
Zappy is Hijink's main defense in close quarters combat, and one of her only offensive attacks. Hijinks' main tactic is to use her many prank items to distract her foe, before coming in with zappy to incapacitate her opponent.
History: Hijinks' dad, Harmless Fun, was a fan of pranks, and bought the joybuzzer when it was available. However, when it was discovered that the device was dangerous in the hooves of a stronger pegasus, it was banned. Harmless always kept the device, hidden among his other possessions, which is where Hijinks' discovered it.
How it works: A small generator absorbs the Pegasus magic from the user, a switch on the generator determining the amount of power it takes, from none-low-medium-high-ultra. When turned on, electricity will be released through the disk, shocking anything it comes into contact with. Energy is supplied to the disk through wires, which are connected to the generator.
Appearance: Zappy looks like a brown band that goes over the foreleg. It has a metallic disk on it, which has the 'sweet spot' in the center. Small blue wires come out of the disk towards the opposite side, where a small grey box is hidden (the generator).
- Boom Crackles:
- Hijinks always carries at least 10 boom crackles around with her. They are small but pack quite a punch. When the fuse is lit, the bomb will explode in a few seconds and create a small explosion that creates sparks in the area around the explosion. These sparks are non-lethal but hurt, and also make it difficult to fly. It also makes it hard for ranged opponents to concentrate or aim. It's her main defense against flying targets and ranged foes.
Boom Crackles look like small red pouches with a fuse sticking out the end. They can also be packaged several other ways, but the outside is always red in colour. The explosion itself looks like miniature fireworks, and really this is all it is, mini fireworks.
The bomb is made with easy to find materials, and requires very little gunpowder, making it easy for Hijinks to have a good supply of them.
In combat, Hijinks uses these bombs for several different scenarios. These bombs can be used to stun, distract and flush out targets behind cover. Their main use however, is used to defend against ranged targets, as it's hard to aim with this blowing up in your face.
- Party Time Bombs:
- Party Time bombs are large bombs, that are black and round and have a drawing of a smiley face on it. They are too large for Hijinks to carry and she does not keep it on herself. These bombs create a large explosion. They are way too heavy for Hijinks to throw though, so she must set it up beforehand. This requires quite a lot of gunpowder to make and is obviously very hard to conceal.
- Cloud in a bottle:
- A cloud in a bottle is exactly what the name implies, its a jar filled with clouds. Combined with her pegasus spit and a bit of glue, Hijinks can stick this to anything she wants and can only be removed by her or another pegasus. She can also throw it on the ground to shatter the glass and release the condensed mass of clouds to create cover for herself.
She can also climb or swim through the clouds if she pleases, meaning she can create things like a staircase or a hat with it. In fights, she likes using the cloud to confuse opponents, and she can use it to hide from ranged attackers.
Hijinks can make this with a jar and a bit of water. Hijinks seemed to have taught herself how to make clouds at an early age, and often used it in her many pranks, such as sculpting a cloud beard on a sleeping pony. Making clouds is quite tedious at times, so Hijinks doesn't use them too often.
- Mr Hothead:
- Mr Hothead is simply a name given to whatever match Hijinks is using at the time, even though Hijinks burns through several matches. Matches are used for light the fuses for boom crackles and party time bombs. She can also use matches to light other flammable material on fire. Hijinks always keeps a box of matches on her. Mr Hothead's personality seems to be violent and quick to anger.
- Marbles:
- Hijinks pulls out a pouch of marbles and releases them onto the ground. Anyone who walks upon this area and does not pay attention or who are running too fast may trip. Other than marbles, she also uses anything that is round and small and acts marbley.

Well.. This is certainly a character. One I have concerns over. First. Lil Pip. Far too OP. The gun tech is really early. Guns are horribly Innacurate and long to reload. One does not simply invent a machine gun. Especially something so OP. Please change this somehow. Also. Lots of explosions for a 12 year old. Especially one with a "Lost Boys" mentality towards adults. It makes interactions with anyone really difficult, since the majority are "Adults"

Re: Hijinks [Pegasus]
No no no, Hijinks doesn't just randomly blow people up! that's silly! she just doesn't trust what adults say, or rather what they promise her. If an adult says to her, "im going to get a sandvich", she won't blow them up or think they are lying to her (although she might think they are going for the donut instead). It's promises like "I'm going to help you" that she doesn't trust. She likes talking to others and treats it like a game, she just won't believe they will do anything for her out of the kindness of their heart.Steel Strike wrote:Well.. This is certainly a character. Oh, and i'm getting rid of lil'pip, just doesn't work with pranking, too heavy. probably would make fighting boring since enemies would be forced to take cover. I will change her arsenal to better fit her talent, and to focus on distracting and making an opponent vulnerable. A 12 year old just doesn't have what it takes to hold up in a fair fight.
